Tell me about your unfinished car project so I won’t feel so bad about mine.
I’ve just been too busy to carve out time in the shop for a carb swap on my VW and wiring work on the Foxbody. |

I bought a 99 ram 1500 with a broken transmission... 2 months ago
Finally got it in the air last night and pulled the drive shaft. Probably another day or two I'll actually pull the starter, etc etc. Doing it all on dirt with no real Trans Jack sucks big time. |
|
I just bought a Jeep JK that already had over $60k invested. I spent another $7k on it this AM. I'm sure its entire life will be a project.

1990 Supra Turbo. had it since 1999.
I have finally been working on it again only to find the engine is trash. Hope the non turbo motor in my 88 isn't bad. If it is, that's probably the end of the road for me. God damn rodents built a nest on top of the motor when it was in storage. Piss and other shit seeped into the #6 cylinder. Attached File Old pic. Attached File |

01 Bullitt in dark highland green. Rebuilt the engine, suspension, brakes, steering, and exhaust but basically back to stock. It runs and drives like new.
Needs paint, interior, and a 5.0L coyote. I’ll never do ball joints on jack stands again |

Mine is a 1980 monza.
So far I stuffed in an aluminum gen 4 5.3 and mated a powerglide. I fabbed a turbo log and finished the entire hot and cold side with a single Borg Warner s475. The glide came out to get new clutches and a manual valve body and trans brake. I built a hanger for two big ass fuel pumps and hung it under the car. I hand built a glass front bumper and then got my C10 and it has sat since. It needs the trans done and a nine inch and probably a cage. |

Inherited a 51 chevy split window pickup. It was actually in beautiful shape. Looked great. Completely useless vehicle. Couldn't even use it as a truck since it was so nice.
It always needed work. Always. Always something broke, needed adjustment, didn't work, or drained the battery, or didn't fit, or burned out, etc. . . Sold the thing. Life is better. |

‘88 LX, aluminator Coyote, magnum T56, Maximum Motorsports everything, Brembo brakes all four corners, basically everything is there to get it running just lacking motivation. I feel it coming soon though haha.

F250 - Twin turbo Cummins swapped.
Needs a cage and a 4 linked ladder rear. |

On going Jeep LJ project and bought a Bantam T3C military style trailer I’m rebuilding with my son. Plan is to have it done next summer to take a 2-3 week camping road trip. Bought a Roof Top Tent and power supply and solar panels to somehow integrate into the build.

Gotta get under the Cressida to deal with some rust mitigation.
Attached File Got a new set of factory wheels that need tires, then an alignment. Also got a beefier rear sway bar for it I need to install. Attached File |

Supercharged and stroked fox body....I just traded it for two guns after watching it rot and could not do that to it.

1986 CUCV M1009
Have had it , it runs and functions fine , since 2009 and have plans for it. But I never seem to have enough time. |

Almost bought a project car this past weekend 29 Ford tudor body chopped 4" , front /rear end , new gas tank , new grill shell and stock frame . Dream is a bagged , chopped , channeled rat rod ( tastefully done , not weld everything from a garage sale onto it ) Decided against it ATM . Figured it would nickle and dime me ,

My 2001 outback threw its timing belt 6 months ago and is sitting in the driveway waiting for me to get the heads off.

'84 Jeep CJ I6, 79k mile survivor, virtually no rust. In pieces for over two years as my son's interest has waxed and waned and my own obligations got in the way. Have most of the bits, including a good head and "NVH" block to build a 4.6 stroker for it.
Right now we're distracted by the semi-project car that he'll be driving to college - an 86k mile '04 Lincoln Town Car Ultimate in cherry cosmetic condition that I got cheap due to electrical gremlins. Finally solved those - turned out to be one single wire that had 8 distributed splices on it that had, well, as best I can describe it, it was rotted - and we're wrapping up backup camera install along with an Alpine double DIN radio to give him hands-free CarPlay, etc. Next we add ex-Mustang wheels with some good tires, rear aftermarket anti-sway bar, and rebuild the front end to take care of torn ball joint covers and sagging bushings. Then there's the plug/coil change and cam phaser replacement for the 4.6 that they all need. At that point, it should be GTG to get him through college, and we can get back to the Jeep. |

I've got a 1968 Mercury Montego convertible. I pulled the 302 and finished a roller cammed 306 with fuel injection the first week of July 2020. A week later found out my wife was pregnant. I finally got back to work on it in June. Transmission builder has the C4 done, but can't find a converter now. Once that is all sorted I have to have the new top installed. Hopefully it will be together for the 2023 Power Tour.

Quoted: This. If he wants to know about my oldest project that would be the 66 Mustang I've had since I was 14. It's in the same condition it was in when I left for college. I'm now in my 50s. View Quote My teen project was a 1969 C20 that my dad sold while I was in college. |

Waiting for the credit card to cool off before buying a bellhousing, headers, and fuel pump so I can at least drive it.
Soon as the new engine is in the oem T-5 life span is seriously in jeopardy, so I can look forward to coughing up some cash for a TKX. |

My project is still wrapped in plastic in my garage. LS3/6L80E attached just trying to find something I want to drop it in.

80 foxbody mustang drag car. 393 Cleveland w/ 4 barrel heads, .674 lift solid roller cam, studded, hard blocked, head and main girdles. C6 4500 stall with trans brake. 9" moser rear, 5 lug all around. Gutted and caged.
$25k at least in it. Has never been started. I'm an idiot. |

1968 mustang fastback.. Bought 18 years ago. Solid car from nevada. Kept up maintenance for the first 10 years now sits. Maybe when I retire

Every 'hobby car' is a project car, IMO.
Switching to ZR1 wing and maybe fender vents, needs CAI and larger throttle body. Will probably upgrade exhaust at some point, but want to keep the NPP valves for stealth. DSC swap for suspension control, and if I can ever find or make them, a replacement set of fender flares to replace the ones I had to take off to make room for the splitter winglets. Attached File |

1966 Yenko Stinger #YS100, of 100 built then. I'm 3rd owner, and have owned since 1987. (When they were cheap, and purists didn't want an old racecar). This car has a racing pedigree from '66 thru '72, beating Porsches and Corvettes. Whenever I decide to sell it, I already have a buyer for it. He owns others, and knows this one won't be cheap. I'm planning on getting motivated before I die. ?? A couple pics of then, and now. Attached File
