Wesley is sick. Doctors don't know what's wrong. He's losing 2 to 3 pounds a week. WBC count is low, RBC count is low. Negative for diabetes. He wasn't a heavy kid to begin with. He's 13 and obviously scared himself. I'm losing my goddamn mind. I've had more stress this year than all other years combined, and the prospects of having a really sick kid scares the hell out of me. So if you're the praying type, please keep Wes in your prayers. If you're the good vibes type, send them his way too. Thanks ARF family.
Update-ish: Wes has lost another 4 pounds since Tuesday. I moved the scale all over the damned room trying to get it to weigh a more accurate weight. Doctor is ordering a full body scan to look for masses. We're going to the best oncology/hematology doc in the state. Here's a couple of pictures of Wes so you know who you're praying for. Update: he's celiac disease negative so the doctors are now doing a chest X-ray, a cell turnover test, and an inflammation test of some sorts. Attached File Attached File Update 9-29-22: The cell turnover test was on the high side of normal. The test for inflammation was normal. Chest X-ray was also inconclusive. So the oncology/hematology doc wants us to track the everliving shit out of his food consumption. Have him wear a smart watch to track activity in My Fitness Pal and continue to weigh him every 2 days. He wants to be absolutely certain that it’s not a calorie deficit problem before doing more invasive tests. |

Might be worth braving Chicago if this don’t get figured out soon.

Thanks everyone he's currently 5'7 and weighs 113. He doesn't have far to go before he's in scary territory. Eats everything he can get his hands on.

Prayers sent for you and Wesley, brother.
I feel your pain. Tomorrow my wife, son and I head to a large Children’s Hospital in KC so my son can get heart surgery. He’s 13. We’re all wearing brave faces, but I can tell everyone is stressed. You might be in a worse place though, where we were several months ago. Not knowing… God Bless you all. May the Doctors have knowledge and wisdom, and find the answer to bring your son to health. May that knowledge bring healing to your son, and peace to you. God speed. |

Jesus, we lift up Wesley to You. We know that You know us intimately. You knitted us together in the womb
You know each and every hair on our head. Please be with this young man and his family and give them comfort. We ask for the Holy Spirit to descend upon this family and give a peace that has never been felt like this before for this family. We ask for wisdom from the doctors that they may not leave any stones unturned to find out what is going on. We thank you for medical wisdom and pray that the doctors treat Wesley as their own. We ask for miraculous healing that only you can provide. We pray this all in Jesus' name. Amen |

Prayers sent for him and your family. I was the middle son and it's tough enough just being that... having this is a whole new level of stress.
May the grace of god be upon him and your family. Prayers sent. |

Done. Good luck. Hopefully y'all get it figured out quickly.

Thoughts and prayers.
Get him to a Children’s Hospital affiliated with St Jude’s if you don’t get the answers you need. |
