It doesnt come off.
I've tried everything. carb cleaner, brake cleaner, mineral spirits, paint thinner, laquer thinner, gas, orange scrub, vegetable oil, goo gone, dawn dish soap, and a 30 minute shower with a brush and wash cloth. Wear gloves like a millennial. |

Time is your friend.
Eta: quick web search said vegetable oil and rubber glove. It will soak into your skin and work its way in between the POR. |

Pettit Trailercoat is just as bad. It looked like I got a hand transplant from the tin man for days. Fingernails I had to sand down.

You'll be able to wear it off of your palms faster if you just skip the lube

Or super glue. I had a new tube bust open in my hands last night while trying to get the little spout on.

View Quote A few years ago my Wife was repairing a reindeer Christmas decoration the kids broke with super glue. She was having problems getting it together and asked for me to hold it together. I found out you couldn’t see the glue on it and that my Wife has used way too much when I felt that flash of heat in my fingers gluing my hands to the deer. It took about twenty minutes of dumping acetone on my hands and scrubbing with a toothbrush to work it under my fingers to get free. I still had bits of glitter on my hands for a few days till it wore off. That reminds me I still need to get pay back… |

The classic POR on your Hootus disaster. Brings me back to the early days of the interweb.

Black pearl is tough to get off.
Roofing sealer is very tough to get off hands. |

There was huge thread on Pirate 4x4 years ago entitled "I got Herculiner on my hootus". If it's archived somewhere, it is hilarious. I suspect POR-15 might have a similar effect.

I got roofing tar on my skin once. Took a fucking brillo pad to get that off.

At least
your hands won't get rusty. also- I've been there brother. |

I did that once. I think after a few days regularly going at it with sandpaper it was less noticable

Thought this was a Palmetto State Armory thread about a “POOR-15”

Been there done that. It’ll just have to wear off, will take a week or longer. Wear it as a badge of pride.

It's the only thing I've found that'll clean the paint brushes I've used for POR-15 though. It behaves completely different from lacquer thinner. |

Well, 80 grit sandpaper is probably your best bet then. Or maybe wear gloves next time? |

I can always tell when he's done trailer or underbody work, because he's got that shit all over his hands and arms for about a week, lol. |

Flap disc and an angle grinder.
Roloc/bristle disc and a die grinder might work too. Take pics of the bloody stumps of what's left of your fingers for us. |

First hand experience here. Acetone and a shop rag will allow you to scrub off a couple layers of skin that you will regret removing but the Por15 will come off with the pound of flesh. Next time wear an expendable long sleeve shirt with rubber gloves and use some sort wide tape to keep the sleeve and glove sealed up.

Sandpaper and time. Got it on my skin back in the 1990's, had it on my skin for 3-4 months. I tried everything. Shit works though. I painted a piece of metal with it, let it dry and did my best with a hammer to get it to crack by hitting it as hard as i could, never even chipped.

In before OP reports brain, kidney and liver damage from the fat soluable solvents that he has used on himself. Dibs on ammo.

Just leave your hand in direct sunlight for a day or so and it'll flake right off just like anything else it's painted on and left exposed to UV

I glued my toes together with por15. I was wearing sandals when I applied it.
I also managed to get it on my forearms and a splotches on the back of my head. It takes about 3 weeks to come off... |
|
OP the only thing that takes it off is time. Been there, done that.
