Germany pledged 7!

They need to send the US cash to pay for what we sent instead.

It is sickening how we are getting played.

So, the USA is sending an astronomical $40 billion to Ukraine on top of the $30 billion plus we're sending to Israel this year and the Dutch can't be bothered to do more than send five artillery pieces?

Well, it's nice to know that our European allies are shouldering their fair share of the burden for a crisis in their backyard.

It is mind boggling to think about how armed the world was leading up to the world wars, and how disarmed it is now.

The Dutch had 700 heavy artillery pieces going into WW2.

It seems like Russia, China, and us are the only people with arms stockpiles anymore.

Buy some good stuff to hold them over for a few more weeks.

I can send them some more canned goods so they can eat but with the inflation it will be a lot less than I could have before.

Having a corrupt country and then getting attacked and not being able to tell the world why you are broke must suck.

Hope Hunters job was worth whatever they got from it.

I should be clear.

$11B is the authorization for the direct transfer of current US property. Sunk costs.

$9B is authorized new spending.

Dutch defence inside NATO is maily airforce and navy based so we dont have any tanks and only a couple of arty pieces. It's not like the USA that can do everything.

The Dutch do know fact have tanks. They are leased from Germany and integrated into a German unit, and are mostly there to retain the institutional knowledge of tanks.

There is the breakdown. I don't like 50% is allocated towards DoS and humanitarian efforts. That is where the skimming of funds is going to be, by US politicians and NGO pals all through DC and Europe. Very little is cash to Ukraine. A lot will be funneled back into the MIC.

25% to DoD to spend with the MIC
10% to EUCOM for missions
15% is direct war assistance to Ukraine (mostly weaponry, very little cash).
