If you have not stockpiled at least two years of supplies, just stop what you are doing and get on it. Plant a garden if possible. Get chickens. Learn to fish. Notice I have never sold any of the supplies, and rarely even mention models of pro ducts other than a few like Katadyn water filters, or Berkey, but I make no money from that and have no relationships any companies. People often say that I should set up an online store. But that would undermine the message. If I tell you to stock up and then provide a link, the message is undermined.
Most folks smart enough to read my pages have been preparing for a long time. Comparing notes with each other. Searching for holes in their strategies. Some folks even make dry runs by turning off their water and electricity for varying periods in order to find more weaknesses in their plans.

Self defense is vital. We’ve seen 911 is a joke. We are our keeper. A grandmother with a little training can throw some serious self defense downrange.

Later this year we likely will see various governments within the Unites States starting with price controls and increased subsidies. Governments always do this when they are losing control. These policies will exacerbate situations. OGUS will push to make rationing electronic to gain even more control of every aspect of our existence. All the indicators are there.

Stock up thick. The clock is ticking. Conditions are set: 2022 will become serious. 2023 will be a year of starvation in many countries. I do not even see a way out of this. Too much inertia and sabotage. Serious famine creates real pandemic, more war, and HOP — Human Osmotic Pressure — which leads to migrations.

Not seeing any price controls in the market, no food shortages, especially rice and beans are in ample supply down here in the South.

Local farmers in Louisiana gave me a large supply of Rice from their harvest for storage in a community shelter.  Even with 3 different unoccupied buildings in my possession in my AOP, just have no more room for food.  Even after the hit we took with Hurricane Laura and giving back to those in need of food.

Could all this hysteria be for those living in urban areas like Chicago or New York?

This thread is played out folks.

If all American homes had a wood and coal burning stove then everyday Americans could compete against big power companies for heat and for cooking.  You wouldn't have to use it every day but just having it would be competition should the price of power and heat get too expensive.  Yes, air pollution would go back up and the eco greenies would really have a fit because of that.  But, Americans would again have "choice" about some things, power and heat being one of them.

I think you all know why this subject came up:  It's about power and control.

Big changes coming in 2023.

Davos 2023: Saudi Arabia says open to settling trade in other currencies

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia is open to discussions about trade in currencies other than the US dollar, according to the kingdom’s finance minister.

“There are no issues with discussing how we settle our trade arrangements, whether it is in the US dollar, whether it is the euro, whether it is the Saudi riyal,” Mohammed Al-Jadaan told Bloomberg TV on Tuesday in an interview in Davos.

“I don’t think we are waving away or ruling out any discussion that will help improve the trade around the world,” Al-Jadaan said.

Bolstering international ties

The world’s largest oil exporter is seeking to strengthen its relations with crucial trade partners including China. The kingdom is a pillar a petrodollar system established in the 1970s that relies on pricing crude exports in the US currency.

During President Xi Jinping’s visit to Riyadh last year, the two countries agreed to boost coordination on energy policy and exploration. During that trip Xi said that China would make efforts to buy more oil from the Middle East and also wanted to settle that trade in the yuan.

“We enjoy a very strategic relationship with China and we enjoy that same strategic relationship with other nations including the US and we want to develop that with Europe and other countries who are willing and able to work with us,” Al-Jadaan said.

Saudi Arabia is also working with multilateral institutions to provide support to Pakistan, Turkey and Egypt, as part of the kingdom’s largesse to nations it deems vulnerable, Al-Jadaan said.

“We are investing heavily in these countries and will continue to look for opportunities to invest,” Al Jadaan said. “It’s very important to bring stability.”

The minister said his country is looking to invest $10 billion in Pakistan. It already extended the term of a $3 billion deposit to boost its foreign-currency reserves late last year, and Saudi Arabia is now exploring the possibility of increasing the amount.

“We are providing even oil and derivatives to support their energy needs,” Al Jadaan said. “So there is a lot of efforts, but we wanted this to be conducted.”

The kingdom is also discussing with the World Bank and other institutions how can it be “more creative to provide that support” to Pakistan, the minister said.

Saudi Arabia is also “providing a lot of support to Egypt and we’ll continue to “- not directly through just grants and deposits, but also through investments,” Al-Jadaan said.

Should anything surprise anyone in 2023?

Biden's climate envoy John Kerry says an 'extra terrestrial' force brought people to Davos to 'save the planet' in bizarre World Economic Forum speech

- 'I'm convinced we will get to a low-carbon, no-carbon economy — we're going to get there because we have to,' John Kerry said
- 'I am not convinced we're going to get there in time to do what the scientists said, which is avoid the worst consequences of the crisis,' he added
- 'You look at what's happening with species, half the species of the planet been already killed,' Kerry added

My price of eggs by the skid dropped $ 1.40 a dozen from last week to this week.  If increased costs are what is driving the unusually high cost, the farmers are going to get hit even worse.

I do not believe that is the issue however, I believe rather that it is a shortage of layer hens due to the slaughter of millions of chickens due to bird flue concerns which continued over the holiday season in the USA.

Labor, trucking, and feed cost have all risen.  Not enough to justify the extreme jump in egg prices over the last few months however.  There are still shortages of chicks coming from the commercial hatcheries, both from the broiler and layer producers.   This will lead to a slowing of the price decreases, this last weeks decrease is an abnormality and unsustainable.  Prices will not revert to where they were 9 months ago anytime soon - if at all, but they will continue to slowly drop in price until a new minimum price floor is reached.

One opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it.

We got our first chicks in June 2017, they started eating adult feed late that year.  It was about $12.99 a bag on sale.  The price went to about $26.99 for the same feed last year.
Feed doubled, price of eggs should double.  We have always given our eggs away, but it might not be feasible soon...

That's interesting.

The good stuff we get from our local feed store is only up about 20% to $18/50lb, which is about the same as TSC.

I was going to slaughter and start fresh but I think I'll wait until I have pullets in hand, might just talk to a friend who keeps a rooster.

This.  Allow them to free range, and give them most all your kitchen scraps to supplement their feed.  Their feed requirements will go way down doing this.

Also, you can make your own food for them using feed store sacks of seed saving a few bucks, and you can ferment batches of the store bought feed making it healthier while bulking it up a bit.

Davos speaker calls for one billion people to 'stop eating meat' for 'innovation' and the environment

Siemens AG chairman said the future will bring proteins that are zero carbon, healthier and tastier than meat

A speaker at the World Economic Forum (WEF) called on one billion people to "stop eating meat" to combat climate change.

"If a billion people stop eating meat, I tell you, it has a big impact. Not only does it have a big impact on the current food system, but it will also inspire innovation of food systems," Siemens AG Chairman Jim Hagemann told the WEF crowd in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday.

He was "inspired" by his 24-year-old daughter who asked him how he could advocate for "zero carbon value chains" and still eat meat products.

"And so, I stopped eating meat," he said.

Hackable humans at WEF: ‘We can decode faces in your mind, your PIN number to your bank account’

If you thought freedom of speech was worth preserving, next comes freedom of thought: perspective

Thanks to AI and the Internet of Bodies (IoB) ecosystem, decoding the human brain is already well underway, according to a World Economic Forum (WEF) presentation.

Five years after historian Yuval Noah Harari told the WEF that humans were hackable and that organisms were algorithms, Harari’s insights have been fully realized.

Thursday’s WEF Annual Meeting 2023 session on “Ready for Brain Transparency?” opened with a short video showing a dystopian scenario where employees’ brainwaves were not only decoded to determine their performance in the workplace, but also to determine whether they participated in illegal activity.

While the scenario in the video below is fictional, the technological framework is already in place.

War Invasion through Darien Gap and Through Kinney County, Texas
20 January 2023
Darien Gap, Panama

Meanwhile, back in Texas — Sheriff Brad Coe of Kinney County shot the red flare. I’ve been to see Sheriff Coe several times. Violent invaders are causing mayhem in County County. We are a nation at war.

Similar here in Darien Gap with many ‘migrants’ committing acts of violence — and getting violence in return here in Darien Gap. Many of these ‘migrants’ are total predator class animals. And many others are literally innocent children left in the jungle to die. This is war.

Texas Governor Abbott is an arm of WEF. Abbott with intention and aforethought facilitates invasion into United States. Abbott is a traitor.

We are on our own. We must support Sheriffs like Brad Coe in Kinney County. They are frontline leaders who need our support, and we need their support. Sheriff Coke is a We the People.

That’s the 2nd time I’ve seen him badmouth Abbott and label him a traitor. Abbott has done more than anyone in any state or Washington DC to control what’s occurring on our border. Texas is spending tens of millions fighting this invasion with manpower and equipment. Don’t forget, this is an International Border, not a state. This is on Washington. Place the blame where it should be.

While my feeling don’t go to the extreme that Yon’s do, I have been continually disappointed with Abbott.  I had very high hopes for him after having Rick Perry as Governor for so many years.  Abbott just comes across as weak to me.  Honestly, I think Kari Lake had some bold plans for border control if she had become Governor of Arizona, well beyond what Abbott is currently doing.

At one time, states used to take care of border issues themselves. Below is a pretty good book documenting that in Texas during the last century.  My CHL instructor back in the 90’s, who used to be a DPS officer and firearms instructor, told me of an incident where illegal entry became very prevalent back in the 1970s When Dolph Briscoe was governor.  Briscoe sent one Texas Ranger with a 30.06 to that location and that’s all it took to stop the crossings.

Not that Abbott could get away with something like that now but somehow, powers seemed to have been taken away from states and handed over to the Feds.  It would be nice ro take some of that control back, especially since everyone understands this could end up being a matter of our very survival and existence.

Darien Gap, Today
Long and interesting days. We are out of the Indian village now and back to another village. More later.

Matt Tomlett made this photo today while we were at a Kuna Indian village. They seem to all have guns. We at deer today that was shot last night. Ben Bergquam was biting into the deer today at a Kuna home. There was still some fur on the cooked dear, lol.

Kuna hunter.
We ate the venison from the deer he shot the night before. His "reeflay" (rifle) is an ancient single-shot break open 20G shotgun with no trigger guard. His only ammo for all purposes is #5 shot. He said the deer was taken at 6 meters. This single shot has taken jaguar. There are no laws, permits or seasons. These men live free, but guns and ammo a very hard to obtain. Every hunt is for meat, anything the cazador encounters. The fresh meat never sees the inside of a refrigerator.

Same for fish or any other game. The jungle and the ocean are their supermarket. The Kuna are famously healthy and long-living with perfect teeth. They run up the mountains like mountain goats barefoot or in sneakers. Their medicines also come from the forest, actual cures.

Their 85 year old Sahila or village headman out paced all of us on our long walks...barefoot. He is also their doctor of natural remedies. Terrible wounds are treated with poultices and I saw obvious very old bad wounds and injuries on people who had made full recoveries. The Sahilas knowledge is passed generation to generation as forever.

I once thought he’d become the best Governor Texas ever had.

I lost a lot of respect for Abbott during the lockdowns and mask mandate period.  I end up voting for Don Huffines in the primary and also voting for Shelly Luther for the races she has ran since then, too.

In the meantime, Pat Fallon has been just a little bit better of a US Rep. than Dan Crenshaw has.
