What future vehicle are you waiting for?
I am of the opinion that currently, nothing that I want exists. I drive a 2009 Tacoma and am waiting for either the Gen 4 Tacoma or the Gen 6 4Runner. |

Something like the Rivian R1T, but affordable.
If I could get one around $40k, I'd probably order one. |

A DEF free diesel that runs like Rudolf would have wanted. Fuck the EPA.

|
|
An electric zero turn mower that cuts 2-3 acres on one charge. Does that count?

2024 Tacoma probably be disappointed with what it will be though

This is why our founding fathers are rolling over and we will never stand up to this b.s. government. Men are worried about nothing but material things.

I'm interested to see what an electric jeep wrangler will be like. Curious if the mechanical bits would be the same, or if they would go the multi engine route.
If they come out with one in the next 3 years or so and its <50k I'd probably buy one. I'm not holding by breath though. They seem to be a combination of far behind the tech curve while also somehow charging a fortune for their stuff. |

View Quote I read a book on George Washington. The most interesting part was how he ordered a custom carriage from Great Britain with all the newest fashionable decorations. I think he would have definitely been a car guy. |

being a poor, I still do not understand how people can pay over msrp for a new car. being fluent in shitbox has made me see how car companies change bits of plastic and call it "brand new". take off that thin cheap plastic and everything looks exactly the same. I plan on keeping my shitboxes on the road as long as possible, or until there is actually a self driving car that is affordable. or the gov offers me $$$ for my shitboxes to roll into the ford f150 lightning

MIGHT get rid of my Raptor for a Cybertruck, depending what the production version looks like… Might.

I'm in the same boat. waiting to see what the tri motor cybertruck does.

The only thing I am looking forward to in the future is autonomous driving. Definitely don't want it forced on me but there are times when I would just like to be able to hit a button and arrive at my destination.

View Quote There’s been a shit ton of hype around Teslas and EV’s in general for years now… but I ended up renting a 2021 base model Tesla Model 3 for a weekend… and I get it now. Once I hit the highway the car pretty much drove itself 300 miles and automatically changed my route in order to get to a charging station depending on how far I had left to go and where my battery status was… and charging up wasn’t bad at all. Basically you don’t want to charge above 80-90% and from you can get up to 80% in about 30min MAX. So I’d charge up and it’d be in an area with a restaurant’s or a gas station so I’d just get something to eat and sit back in the car for 15min. And when I actually wanted to actively drive the car… dear fucking god. You push a bit on the accelerator and you get an insane amount of power. Since most of the weight is the batteries lining the bottom of the car it’ll hug the road. Thing kinda looks like a Camery but handles soooooo much nicer It’s just a good god damn car. I’m definitely getting one next time I need a new vehicle. Has a slightly higher sticker price but the thing barely has any moving parts so maintenance is much lower long term. |

One that I don't have to deal with a dealership to get a warranty on.

That translated into ~4 miles offroad. So yeah, offroading of any real duration is not going to be part of our green future. |

Maybe a C8.
I've always had favor for the C5s since I'm still not completely sold that there is a mid-engine Corvette coming out of Bowling Green now |

View Quote At least with highway driving we’re pretty much there. I drove a Tesla on a long road trip and I fucking shocked how well it managed gridlock highway driving. It’s the most stress inducing annoying thing in the world for me… It handled the regular highway driving no problem, but I had no idea it’d also handle slow creeping grid lock. |

I was pretty skeptical of all the hype and I ended up needing to rent a car for a trip so I got one off the Turo app…. I get it now. It’s just a fun as fuck car to drive but that’s all optional. Once you’re on the highway it’ll just drive itself. |

Interested in seeing if the INEOS Grenadier lives up to the ideal.

C8 Z06. I have deposits in at two dealers. My spot in line at one of them should get me a first year car.
To say I'm pumped would be an understatement. |

None. New cars aren't exciting as they are almost all EVs or HEVs, or they drive themselves. Cars are now appliances. No one asks whether people are excited about new microwave ovens.
