Ukraine raised more than $270 million in its first auction of war bonds on Tuesday, officials said.
The sale raked in 8.1 billion Ukrainian hryvnias to help fund its military amid the ongoing Russian invasion, the Finance Ministry tweeted. The hryvnia is worth a little more than 3 cents. In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Ukraine's commissioner for debt management, Yuriy Butsa, said the government was also exploring other ways to raise money. "We had an investor call yesterday, and we see a lot of requests of how funds can support us," he said. "We're looking at ways to attract not only in local currency, but also in dollars, euros."
