With the Su27 vs RJ incident, I can only see one option- WW3.
1) If it was an accident, then Russia now knows almost without a doubt that Western aircraft are at least two generations ahead of anything they have. Putin will go nuclear since it's his only leverage. 2) It was not an accident and Russia is trying to start WW3. They are going to continually escalate until NATO/West is provoked. For what reason, I can only imagine a global conspiracy since it's obvious they would be demolished and as a state, they have little to gain. Or it's coordinated with China to start WW3. Either way, not happy scenarios. Missiles don't just go off and launch themselves. It was either an order, or pilot error. Either way, doesn't really matter. |

That was Russia’s “first ones free” moment. Next one is going to cost them. I've been amazed that the Brits have been flying over the Black Sea with their RC135s. We've been keeping ours over Poland and Romania according to ADS-B. I presumed the Brits must have had fighter escorts with theirs. I've been watching one of ours keeping an eye on Syria as well. |

It would take a lot of money and time to get those things ready, to the point where I strongly suspect it would be better to find any in-service gun ADA system in NATO and trade those to Ukraine first. That is, if they had any to spare. How about barrage balloons? Last page you had a hellfire ground launch post. What is the reason Ukraine has not been able to mount them to hinds or hips? Is it a targeting system specific for NATO helo's? |

The last two turned their noses towards the south yesterday morning, when the Ukrainians who were in the village here started driving home with them. Two more machines are waiting in the yard of the company in Sauga to collect a trailer full of cars. |
