Who has one? What’s a good one that won’t attract neighborhood or city Karens?

Mine certainly doesn't attract them.  It might set them off. 4800 ft^3 in a morning.

Did you waterjet the openings?

Nice work no matter how you did it.  The door is a nice touch.

It seems like most of the responders don't know what a pit is.

Whew! I thought this was another Breed Of Peace  thread.

I just made a circle using some big granite pavers. Split a spruce log in half, and used stump sections for legs to make benches.

40ft from fixed structure with cured firewood, completely legal here.  Tell neighbors to pound sand.

My big one is just a 5ft hole in the ground surrounded by bowling ball size pieces of granite. No neighbors, no problems.

Thank you

We have a laser cutter at work. I designed it in Autocad, laser cut out. Formed it and welded it in my garage.

it seems you don't know what a fire pit is

a pit dug into the ground or a freestanding metal vessel, in which a contained outdoor fire is made.

Propane for the win, instant on and off and no smoke unless I want to toss on some wood for the campfire smell.

You are in TX.  You should be tripping over a tank head somewhere as you walk down the street.  Or find someone you know in the oil's industry and get a reject tank head.   I make what I call a fire kettle out of old out dated propane tanks.  Makes a nice freestanding bowl.

Ooh, that's lovely. Part of me really wants to go all in on this route like yours. The other part of me realizes that's a lot of work and $$ for something that I'd only use like twice a year if trends hold

We had a nice, stone pit built by some rando mason from FB marketplace last year. The stone has cracked and looks like hell. My fault for not going with a pro.

That’s what we used at our farm ground. Dude around here was selling them for $75. Best thing about it was when it’s time to clean it out, you just tip it up and roll it out of the way.
