Below is potentially related. I’m a believer in the expanding earth theory and that there are periods of excessive activity that adds to the mass of the earth. Cooling of the core results in iron crystallization and expansion as well. Reduced pressure results in hydroxide released from Ringwoodite and may account for ancient flood stories.

Back in the 70s and 80s there was science talk of the Sun burning out in 2 billion years and it scared the crap out of me. Mind you I was in single digits. Therefore living for 2 billion years was not outside my realm of reality then.
