Drone captures An-225 flying out from Kiev |
|
I guess they don’t have an FAA there
That is one big fucking airplane |
|
I wonder what happened to the drone after the wake left by that behemoth reached it.
|
|
I was driving south on Airways Blvd near Memphis International when one was landing. They is huge.

Super cool.
Seems like a pretty unstable rotation initially but climbing through 300-400(ish) the crew corrected it. As usual, pretty goddamn interesting to see that plane do it’s thing let alone from altitude |
|
One flew into Bakersfield at Meadows field around 20 years ago.
I could see it approaching from Arvin which is like 30 miles away... It had to drop down for approach from way the fuck out there. Whatever it was that was needed in Bakersfield, guessing oil industry related, must have been bg and expensive and a monuental fuck up |

World's Heaviest Aircraft! Antonov An-225 Mriya Stunning Take Off from Toronto Pearson Airport |
|
Saw one on approach at PBI one time. At first I thought a regular airliner was coming in way too low, then I realized it was just a monster of a plane. Looked up on flightaware and sure enough it was one of these beasts. Impressive.
ETA: Realized I actually saw the smaller AN-124, was still huge. |
|
Another addition.
Russians are a strange breed when it comes to aviation Russian IL-76 attempts to crash during takeoff |

Here's the take-off with the drone.

I was waiting for the drone to go into the intake on one of the engines..

The -124s haul the hell outta GE gas turbine generators at CVG. For some dumb reason we at Comair won the bid to fuel it.
We had no fuel trucks to fuel it with. Gave to ASI. |

I've met that thicc girl, it's soo much crazier standing next to it
|
|
Saw it sitting on the ramp in Khandahar one day. Massive bird.

They can spell it in that crazy cuneiformish Cyrillic however they want.
In English, it’s Kiev. |
|
Quoted: I wonder what happened to the drone after the wake left by that behemoth reached it. View Quote Probably had enough zoom to be out of its path. Plus as long as it is not just under. And that plane is so big not much zoom should be needed. It looked like that runway should’ve been twice the length. But obviously it can handle it. Empty I supposed. |
|
I'm almost positive that the video in OP is from MS Flight Simulator or one of the other flight sims.

Quoted: I think they are finishing a second one now that was bought by the Chicoms who are supposedly financing more to be built. View Quote China going to use it to come here and get the money the USA owes them??? Think they can do carry it all in one trip? Maybe Xiden will just write them a check. |

View Quote There was some talk of that years ago but Ukraine ran Antonov into the ground and they haven't produced an aircraft in 6 years now. I can't imagine that many engineers or skilled workers would still be there, most likely they got poached by Russian companies. |

Do you suppose that pilot cried to the authorities about how a UAV almost killed him the way western pilots might?
