When the rappers got MTV to tout their wares and the suburban white boys embraced rap as "their music" and started wearing baggy, ghetto pants to school. That's when it all turned to shit. :)

I graduated 1990 from HS, so I count on this one.
Lets see if any of you all remeber these.
"I will refuse", by Palehead.  A true battle anthem.
"Breate, and N.W.O" by Ministry
"Join in the Chant" by Nitzer Ebb
"No devotion" by Revolting Cocks.
"Headhunter" by Front 242
That is all I can think of now. More to come later.
Most of these songs from the Industrial age of music that was big around Chicago back when I was a young reckless lad.

ANYTHING BY THE PIXIES!!!!

What an incredible band.  They were too alternative to ever be played on mainstream radio in my town.  I never heard of them until 1997, and I couldn't believe I had never heard of them, they were so good.  They sounded more like bands in the first half of the 1990's, but that's because those bands were so influenced by the Pixies.  They were so original and different from anything else being played at the time.
