April will mark 2 years of me being smoke free.
It was not until the last year when I could point out a smoker. |
|
Weird. I could find smokers if I hadn't had a cigarette in a couple of hours.

8 years for me. It still smells good for like a split second, all my nerves jump for joy then I remember that shit feeling and move on.

I smoked for 15 years....quit when i turned 30.....been smoke free for almost 7 years now...i did vape for a while to get off of smoking...i'm quite glad to be done with it all
I can smell a smoker from 1000yds and it still smells good to me....as long as it's not a garbage smoke, then it makes me nauseous |
|
17 years smoke free.
My dad had a 3 pack a day habit Watched him die of lung cancer and repeating "Help me" over and over Most disturbing thing I've ever seen. |
|
I can smell a smoker when their car pulls into the parking lot
wha? they don't know their clothes wreak of acrid stench maybe it's corn kernel yellow stain permanently imbedded in their teeth...nobody will notice the fact that cigarettes are still legal amazes me |

16 years here. That first whiff when someone lights up still smells good. For a brief moment.

One of my co workers smokes so much his ladders smell like smoke. I mean they are in open air doing 70 and still.
|
|
24 years. I’m one of those former smokers that can’t stand the smell of a smoker now.
|
|
|
Coming up on 22 years cigarette free; I also quit chewing the same day. I did smoke cigars for a bit after quitting cigarettes, but I've been tobacco free since June 2006.
OP is correct, you (I) can smell a smoker from a couple yards away and they reek. Having said that, if I were to be told by a doctor that I had an incurable condition and would be dying from it in a matter of days / weeks / months, I'd hit the nearest convenience store on the way out and buy a carton of Camel filters and a roll of Long Cut Mint Skoal (do they still make and sell that?)! |
|
Excuse me ma'am, Do you Smoke? |

My grandparents smoked my Dad smoked I never tried it. I have no doubt it's addictive. I just don't understand why someone in today age would start with all we know about the dangers. You can for sure smell them before you see them.

I quit 4 years ago.
Me and my buddy still grab 2 packs for hunting camp. Can't have hunt camp without smokes and scotch. |
|
Its pretty amazing when your sense of smell starts working like it should again. The smell of cigarettes doesn't bother me too much. I was pretty shocked driving on the highway and started smelling cigarette smoke. Started watching the driver in front of me and sure enough, I could see his hand go to his face pretty often. Windows up, air on at 70mph and I could smell it.

I smoked my last cigarette April 9, 2008 I was 38. I am 50 now and I can smell a smoker a mile away now. It took right at 2 months for my sense of smell to come back. And now I can actually smell women’s perfume and some of that shit is just horrible.

I quit a couple years ago. Cigarettes disgust me
Pipe tobacco is nice though |

Both parents smoked while growing up. Used to sleep buried under covers as a kid in the summertime, with no a/c in the house, because I absolutely hated the smell.
I had moved out, and at Christmas time was about 6 months. Driving back to my place after spending a couple days at the parents house, thinking holy shit, what smells like cigarette smoke??? Everything in the car that was in their house for a couple days. I left presents in the garage for a few weeks because they stunk so bad. Every time I hear a smoker say “you can’t even tell”, I just roll the eyes. |

Nobody ever smelled it I smoked in my car everyday on the way to work, the way home for lunch, and the drive back to work |

Used to smoke 2 packs a day for 27 years.Discovered vaping about 13 yrs ago and use only
tobacco flavor, works for me. No longer snore and my Doc says my lungs sound clear. |

Been quit over 10 years. I love the smell of vape. I also love the smell of a cigarette, but only if I get a tiny whif.
|
|
It's amazing how many smokers think you're full of shit, or a whiny little bitch, when you TRY to explain how strong and repulsive the smell is on them.
Until they quit for a month, and are 10x worse about pointing it out than non smokers ever were.... Referring to online discussion, I don't hang out in bars or start shit with strangers. My wife rolled her eyes for years, then had to quit after surgery. She couldn't stand to be in the same room with a smoker for quite awhile after. |
|
I smoked a pack a day for ten years and quit back in 1998.
Every now and then I will be dreaming and smoke a cigarette. I wake up going WTF?? |

It's amazing: some people can light up a pack and you would never know and someone else can smoke just one and they reek.
I hate getting in line behind those. |

You could lick your finger and write your name on the wall. Everything in the house was sticky. I'd open my window at night and get my ass beat for wasting the ac. |

Haven't had a cigarette since 1986. Smoking a pound of dope a week.

Quoted: I can smell you a mile away.. imagine what my dogs can do View Quote I guaranfuckintee you couldn't pick me out unless you saw a cigarette in my hand. I'm the cleanest smoker on earth. I'm always up wind when outside, my vehicle has a good draw above 10 mph and I only smoke when the vehicle is in motion ie. never in city traffic, gum and hand sanitizer. I've had people say 'your a smoker? ', they never smelled any smoke on me. It's not something to take pride in though, I'd rather not be a smoker. |

I smoked pretty heavily when I was younger, but I quit many years ago, long enough that I no longer feel impelled to virtue signal about my abstinence.
I have been thinking about taking up smoking a pipe occasionally though, mostly just to mess with my husband - don’t want him to get too complacent. |
|
I quit in 2005 and I swear I could go back to a pack a day tomorrow. What a drug nicotine is.

Its makes a big difference when they smoke in their car and home...
Yesterday some trashy couple in the grocery store smelled of that shit two aisles away... it was fucking disgusting. |
