I live right next to an old cemetery, in the middle of nowhere, that I share my driveway with. Ive been running all around my woods at night since I got my 14 a couple weeks ago. I cannot get myself to look into the cemetery. It's never bothered me living next to it. I honestly never think anything of it, but for some reason, I just can't get myself to look over there in the dark with my night vision.

We were dug in just off the Kuwait border in Saudi Arabia right around this time 30 years ago. PVS-7s and it was raining and dark as fuck. I was Sgt of the guard and one of the sentries in a fighting position on the perimeter called in on the bat phone that they saw someone moving outside their position and wanted to engage them. Told them hold on I'm on my way.
I beat feet out there and into the hole with him. Sure enough something was out there and kind of looked like a person, but not really moving. There was lots of what I call "interference" from the rain and total pitch black darkness in the PVS-7. He wanted to shoot it and I told him hold on, I'm going to another fighting hole to the right to get a different angle to look at it. Sprinted to the other hole and it was still there, kind of looked like it was moving a little bit but hard to say. That guy wanted to shoot it too. Told that guy to keep an eye on it and went back to the original position. Then I went to the hole to the left, same thing. Went back to the original hole and we waited there watching it for the next hour and a half as it gradually got light. Finally we could see what it was, it was a long handle shovel someone had left about 20 meters out in front of the fighting hole.

Saw something that I thought was a planet (Jupiter? Saturn?). Kept an eye on it - I thought it was really cool, and I'll be damned - after 10 minutes that "planet" took off across the sky faster than I've seen anything in the sky move - I don't know what it was... don't want to know what it was... but it wasn't a plane or helicopter....

I remember getting my first gen 3 nods. I was going to meet my brother for Independence Day at large nearby lake that allowed fireworks. As I got near the lake at night, there were hundreds of campers and vehicles along the shore and no cell service. I couldn't find my brother's camp. Then I remember that I had nods now.
I whipped out the nods and started walking above the beach. What I witnessed, there in the complete darkness were hundreds of people either having sex or taking a dump in the complete darkness. I could not believe the scale of the scene. It scarred me.  |

I was out on the edge of a hayfield hunting coyote one night last summer. I had a foxpro game call maybe 30yds to my front. I had a thermal on an AR and my good friend had a NV scope on his AR.
I let out a fawn in distress call for all of 30sec when I caught a blur of black (black hot on my scope) across my scope at what seemed like 100mph and right next to our blind. Scared the shit out of me, like jump out of your chair scared. It was a doe who charged into the game call and was going ballistic. She stayed there 30yds out in the field blowing and running all over the place looking for the “fawn in distress” for a good 5min. We laughed pretty hard after it happened but at the time I shit my pants. |

Sleep depravation will do that. My worst was what happened after a few hours in MOPP 4. No sleep and in the night will make you see things that you thought you saw. The only thing I can tell myself that no one would openly approach armed personnel in the dark in the open knowing we would be there. I almost killed a tree branch one time. That is another story for another night.

30 years ago, sitting on the Saudi Kuwait border. I was a M1A1 gunner. Scanning the horizon, I noticed hot running from one hole to the other and back and forth. Wake up TC cause i thought it was iraqis going from trench to trench. Turned out to be pack rats about 100m out, lol

I saw the UFOs.
Sitting in hot gas at Simmons AAF in the left seat of an OH-58D, about third in line. There was an almost a full moon that night, I was bored and started playing with the thermal sight. I was going to acquire the moon on the TV and then switch to TIS to see if the moon showed up. While I was slewing the MMS around and still in the TIS, I caught sight of what looked like about half a dozen squares in a box formation. They looked to be pretty high up. I spent some time flying in the Gulf of Mexico and have seen schools of Stingrays that looked the same. I lost contact and wasn’t able to re-acquire. It’s like Scully says, I believe! |

I saw some weird shit in Afghanistan. Mostly just shadows that moved out of the corner of my eye that had no reason to be there.
The little girl was the weirdest. I was walking from the clinic back to our vehicles. We were staged at the entrance and I had to walk along the outside hesco barrier perimeter. Saw that little girl standing near where our vehicles were. Heard the giggling. I thought I was just seeing and hearing things. We were just off of a 3 day operation and I was exhausted. Was thinking it was odd there was a child on the FOB at 3am walking around. She was probably 50m away from me. Was weird that her laughing didn't sound like it was that far away, it sounded like she was right next to me.When I got closer to our vehicles, she ran away and just disappeared. I just thought I was seeing things because i was exhausted. |

I've seen a formation of high altitude drones of unknown origin...
I've seen satellites that are flying straight and then turn 90* on a dime... I've seen erratic flying glowing ufos pull off impossible G maneuvers and disappear... Then I realized that geese, birds, bats, bugs, and fire embers exist and you can see them easy through night vision |

I have a tnvc gen3 WP filmless pvs14 and they scare the shit out of me... i feel like im tunnel vision'd so bad and everything is sneaking up on my from my dark side. That and in thick woods the out of focus close shit. Gives me the creeps. It would be nice if i had some friends that could see in the dark with me... besides the wendigos, aliens, and big foot.

I was stomping around the farm one night and when I was traveling the last few meters down a tight, extra dark wooded path a fucking doe jumped right out infront of me and almost startled me out of my skin. LOL
She just stood there looking at me in the dark from 10ft away but couldn't tell what I was and I guess assumed I was another doe she was walking with. Pretty funny when it happened. |
