What do you got there, I got lots of writing spiders, a few brown recluse and last year one BIG something spider. |

Probably not what you had in mind unless you need to paint your house, but paint supply stores have paint and additives for paint that is supposed to prevent the carpenter bees from chewing their holes. Also, carpenter bees cannot sting. You can identify by a white dot on their face and know they're safe to catch. Tie a long piece of sewing thread around the abdomen and give a kid a fun little "kite". Make sure to warn the kid about bumblebees before they try to catch their own. A tennis racquet or something similar is effective as a manual control device. If you move slow they will just hover around until you smack them.

the only thing that i have found effective against these things is a bb gun, everything else they just fall to the ground a buzz- which leaves you having to run off screaming like a little girl. good luck with them, better you than me.

LOL That's what I got - them ferocious "big something" spiders. The ones when you squish them, a billion little baby spiders come running out. |

At my dad's house, we usually have great fun killing them one at a time using badmitten(sp?) raquets. Since they move slowly, they are easy targets, and it's actually pretty fun! Within a few days, they are pretty much gone until next spring.

.22 shot shells, tennis racket. Otherwise go to the chemical supply house and get some Permethrin Pro. Mix it 1 2/3 oz to the gallon (.5% mix) and spray your house, soffet, eaves etc.. That will do it. If you have any bore holes that they've made, spray in there as well. They will bore into your attic and build a big nest, not a good thing.

I squirt some caulk into their hole. It seals the hole nicely and kills the bug when it gets caught in the sticky crap.
