I can't remember who it was but they had some GREAT pics of it being built. I was going to try and incorporate some of those ideas when we build our new place.

check out fort knox's web site they have vault doors.
all you need is four concrete block walls and a doorway. 5/8 drywall on the celing |

You know with a little luck I'll be breaking ground for the new house in Pa. by this summer. I am definitely going to pour the walls and the ceiling of the walk in gun safe before I set the first level floor joists. If you do it this way you can pour a reinforced concrete ceiling/lid with little trouble. |

I built one a few years ago. We put it under the front porch with eight inches of concrete on all six sides.
