grokster if the setup files are still out there for download. uses the same search network as morpheus/kazaa/etc, and is basically a clone of it and I've never had a pop up. I also click the stop button on the start page as soon as it opens so that their homepage doesn't load

WinMX is the best one I've found, IMO. Even got a few good movies off there.

Start on the network tab and create a user name - you can change it as often as you want. Click on Refresh. Click on the Search Tab Enter anything you want in the Artist/title blocks. Select the proper file type - or use the quick boxes for audio/video/pictures Click on Search Wait. The File window will show those people who have that file available for download. Look for those with big bandwidth and more people sharing that file. Double click on that file and then go to the Transfer window and watch as it spools to your computer. You can have many many files downloading. As a note please share files. I disconnect anyone I catch not sharing files and ban them from ever downloading my collection. |

I've recieved some wrongly titled stuff on MX. For instance, if I was to hypothetically download an avi file called The Day After Tomorrow, I'd hypothetically actually get a movie ver similar to Tears of the Sun..... don't like that! |

I type what I'm looking for in the search. Then hit search.  I've noticed any results in green are always at the top and usually connect. I hightlight about 10 of the green results and hit download. Out of those 10 or whatever quantity you choose, I keep the one with the fastest download rate and cancel the remaining ones. Or if they are all slow connections I cancel them all and highlight another 10. Try it. |

Fakes are everywhere. Aholes retitel their old ass disney movie to whatever the current must have is. This allows for favorable trading. The best bet is wait till it is out on DVD a couple days THEN search for it. The version with the most users online is usually the correct one. |
