Shot this video last Friday...turn it up and enjoy a big warm mug of ‘Merica.
F-22 Raptor Demo Team Practice Jan 22, 2021 |

As many times as I’ve seen these aircraft doing these maneuvers, my brain still does not accept the fact that a plane can fly a square corner.
Nice vid Mark. I send my pops your T38 pics all the time. He’s a former F4 driver but his “one more flight” would be in a -38. |

Nice camera work. Looks almost CG. Wish I could film my RC F-22 1/10 TH as well.

Nice! I have caught them practicing a few times while pumping gas at the Wawa on Mercury Blvd. I was late to work every time

Every time I watch these videos I'm amazed at the finesse the F-22 allows its pilots. I'm sure the lack of depth precision makes it look tighter than it is, but they seem to turn on a time and follow the pilot's input instantaneously.
It's a shame that production was ended on them. |
|
A few years ago one crashed in the desert in Socal. The pilot ejected but died. Very sad.

I'd give up my left testicle to fly one of those birds like that. Incredible machines.

What great filming op, and I could watch that all day.
Thank you for sharing it. |

Great job filming.
A plane doing somersaults is just weird. That thing is amazing. Thanks for posting it. |
|
Do you shoot wider and then use object tracking to crop in post? The tracking looks amazing.
|
|
and someone wants more or more spares... engine manufacturing is ramping back up after 6+ years of being idle.
|
|
I'm always watching them while standing in the cemetery on funerals. Had a P51 flying with them a couple weeks back.
|
|
When it was cancelled , I remember thinking hmmmmm , what is comeing up the pipeline ? We'll probably never know . I bet we’ve got some amazing craft that they don’t want the rest of the world to know about .

Should've known, this country was fucked, when they stopped production on this magnificent, and arguably the word's most capable air superiority fighter. I think, we only have like 167 airframes, and once they're gone, they are gone!
In the meantime, FBHO/Biden sold the technology to China, and now they're going to produce them by the thousands, albeit inferior than our's. But numbers count, and if they're able to send a dozen of theirs to one of ours, the odds are not good for the F22. And don't even come with that, "we're going to shoot them down, even before they knew we were there" crap. FBHO/Biden also sold the Commies hypersonic missle technology. |
|
Everything is on a perfect axis or like someone posted square fucking turns. Good job OP. Watched many F15 tomcats and
F18s fly but have yet to see that beautiful bird. |
|
any pilots here have info on the 6th gen fighter with the R2 unit?
the loyal wingman program sounds cool too. our pilots are going to have a big advantage soon. not like they dont all ready. |

OP is better at operating a camera than 99.87 % of the population, maybe more.

Quoted: I doesn't seem possible that it can move like that. View Quote Downright otherworldly. People keep bemoaning how few were made. I wonder if a movie had been made showing off these capabilities that people would have wanted to watch, would that have induced people to get as riled up over F22s as they get riled up over F14s? But no. All we get is movies where F22s get reked by alien robots, Godzillas and... Koreans in a C130? Oh come on that's not fair! And yet as stupid as that is the F35 has already been in stupider scenarios... Too bad no one can talk about what these things do over Syria. |

it's such a fucking travesty that they'll never make any new ones.

Quoted: it's such a fucking travesty that they'll never make any new ones. View Quote Imagine it's 300 years in the future. People buy F22s to the original factory spec except the stealth coating because that's a big headache to maintain. It's still considered to be something of a rich mans toy. But since they are so fun to watch... |

This is a great lecture to spend an hour watching. Key takeaway: The F-22 is designed to take the piloting out of the plane and make the meatsuit a warfighte, letting the plane handle the flying part. For example, when it's time to take-off, the plane knows it's time to take-off and the pilot doesn't have to remember to set things like flaps, take-off thrust, etc. The plane just knows... Totally worth the watch.

Those are sweet but damn they are loud. OP where were you shooting the video from? I could see them do that from my office on the west side. Impressive but still loud.

F22s have got to be one of the coolest sounding jets IMO, especially when they get into a turn and it sounds like they are tearing the sky in half.
Definitely one of the things I miss about being in Pearl Harbor is seeing and hearing them takeoff and land at Hickam. |
|
Awesome. I saw an F22 demo at Nellis many years ago. Impressive to say the least.
Thanks for sharing this. |
|
Oh, the demo is cool, and all, but I have to say that I might be more impressed with OP's camera setup.
|
|
What kind of Gs is that plane pulling and how is the pilot able to repeatably handle those crazy tight turns?
|
|
Wow. Awesome video!
I wish our founding fathers, in the darkest days of the Revolution, could have looked into the future and saw how far our Military has come. I just hope they wouldn't be able to see everything else we screwed up |
