I’m gonna go out and run for an hour it’s snowing and no ones up
Anyone else dealing with middle of the night insomnia? I’ve tried everything to combat it melatonin, magnesium, weighted blanket, cbd etc etc etc It’s very frustrating I can fall asleep at 9am within a minute of my head hitting the pillow but I wake up every night between 12-3 some nights I can go back to sleep other nights like tonight I can’t |

I'm right there with you man. Headed to the gym now though. Screw it. A formula that started to work for me (and still is) is 10mg melatonin, two beers, and a Benadryl. No pre bed screen time, and read a book until I start to get sleepy. It has worked well for me. The falling asleep part was what I really struggled with and all of that has helped. Not saying anyone should do all that, just sharing what has worked for me. I typically get four hours using that formula, then I'm up.

when I owned a business I was up at 2-3 in the morning everyday.
Now it happens once a month maybe. Its the monkey brain, can't shut it off. |
|
yup
my brain: lets wake up and worry about some useless shit at 2am me: OK!! |

Zinc magnesium aspertate (ZMA) before bed and CBD make me sleep like a rock.

I've been up just over 24 hours. Did it forever off and on working for my self. Now it just keeps going with medical problems and pain I'm in.

When your tired, you’ll sleep. When your not, get up and do shit.
I sleep 4 hours a day with no alarms. In a months time, I get and extra three 40 hour work weeks (120 hrs) to get shit done. Fuck spending a 3rd of my life unconscious. |

Damn, I would call very it up at 0300 sleeping in. Usually I get up at 0200 to go to work.
|
|
I get up at 3:00 a.m. every morning, but I'm about to head out the door to work.

yep, it comes and goes with me.
i figure its an age thing now, mid 50’s and after 6 hours of sleep i just switch on. not overly tired those days either. regular heavy exercise helps, biking for me but its been cold and wet this week. |

Feel your pain. On a phone or laptop surfing the web never helped me get back to sleep. I managed with reading books and watching tv shows Ive seen a million times I wouldnt become engaged with.
Quoted: I'm here.. 200 mg Trazodone will knock you out. No groggy ass hungover feeling in the morning either.. Talk to your doc.. View Quote You have to dial in the amount. For me 150mg would leave me groggy the entire day. I slept but the mind fog was so bad I might as well have been awake. 100 does it for me and sometimes I cut them in quarters if I need to get back to sleep. |

I have the same thing. I fall asleep super easy around 930 and wide awake at 3am. I usually wake from a vivid dream and spend the next 30 minutes to an hour tossing turning thinking about work.
The only thing that has helped, is not going to bed so early. If I can stay awake until 11, I will sleep until 7 without waking up. ETA: 43 years old and have a regular M-F 9-5 job. |

It's seasonal for me, happens during winter. For a couple of years it didn't matter when I went to bed, 0245 was my witching hour. Weekdays, weekends, it didn't matter. At least half the week, I was up then and it didn't matter.
This year it's shifted to I can't fall asleep until at least midnight...no matter what. |

I have dealt with, and in recent months have found a formula that worked for me.
I drink a lot less, most days none. I wear glasses that block blue light when I'm on my computer after sundown. I don't use devices in bed. I read a book instead, and that helps a great deal with the transition to get ready for sleep. I workout with a lot more intensity than I previously did, twice a day if necessary. This makes me glad to see my bed at the end of the day. Going to be tired -- not chronically fatigued, but tired from getting after it physically with exercise and mentally at work -- that's been a game changer for me. I get up early every morning to make sure I get a good training session in. No one's going to send me a bullshit text I don't care about in the 5a hour. |
|
0200 every damn day for the last30 years or so. No matter if I hit the rack at 2000 or 0100.................Sucks
|
|
In bed by 9-10 and wide awake at 2:30 or so.
No meds worked for me. I walk about 7 to 9 miles per day with plenty of stairs. mountain bike and or motorcycle rides on weekends. I gave up on ever fixing the problem. By Thursday I'm exhausted. Once the weekend starts I get my energy back. Monday the cycle starts up again. |
|
Maybe excersise during day? Sorry man.
I'm in CO too and good news is I don't follow that time change shit at my house, so it's actually 4. So today your really just on my schedule. Hope you get it figured out |

Just got up at 3. Go to bed after 8 and read and can go to sleep pretty quickly. Use melatonin a little but doesn’t get me thru to 5, which I would prefer.
Covid sleep disorder.. |

Asleep by 10ish, I have been up consistently from 12-3 (usually my wife calling me back to bed). My mind just has a lot of stuff going on, I’d rather be sleeping. I’m not tired throughout the day. I dunno, maybe less screen time is the answer... and a chug of NyQuil PM.

All the time, man. 2-3 nights a week.
Usually between 3am and 4:30am. |
|
I'm in the same boat as all you guys.
Sometimes I can get back to sleep most other times my mind takes off like a pack of Greyhounds begging for something to stress about. While we search for solutions, I would caution you about using Benadryl. It has some nasty brain side effects if used long term and it looses effectiveness over time. |

I think Scott Adams said it was true for him...well, less than 8. |
