Can be renewed if all parties agree. This way, no messy divorces.
Would this save society or destroy it? |

How about just don’t get married then. Seems like a more adult choice.

If you're that broken/distrustful inside or have that much more assets then a potential mate that you want to protect just stick with hookers or get the pre-nup.
|

Seems like almost everyone I know that married wrong, figured it out within that time span.
I say good idea |

that would certainly decrease the attrition rates for men in their mid 50's marrying girls in their 20's from SE Asia

How about more commitment instead of less? And, things that would build families rather than buying into the left’s goal of demolishing them?

I was thinking 5 w/auto-renew unless one party disagrees. If it’s 2, you just get married every two years. There also needs to be a standard set of next steps:
- have kids: here is the Federal income to support ratio - alimony: to qualify, meet these Federal requirements Etc. |
|
So basically moving in with a girlfriend, but with more steps and expenses, including expense of a wedding.
Would you have to do a second wedding after two years? Women would love that |

With marriage, in a perfect world, you are showing to society that this is the person you will be building a life with.
Hopefully, if both have dated enough to become mature regarding a long term relationship, you have linked up with someone that meshes with your personality and you with theirs. I do joke with the wife that a marriage license is the only license I know of without an expiration date. But after 35 years I guess I will not be finding that. |
|
Why bother? The idea of a stable marriage is important for the raising of children, who take a long period of time to raise to maturity.

Quoted: Can be renewed if all parties agree. This way, no messy divorces. Would this save society or destroy it? View Quote Marriage is a religious concept best reserved for those couples who want children together. The government should have nothing to do with it and there should be no opt out clauses. Just adults making lifetime commitments based on their shared values. |

View Quote The left is winning the culture war with women. A childless, cat ranching existence with an advanced humanities degree or a well-compensated middle management position appeals to them more than the traditional nuclear family. If you can get women to buy into marriage more, sure. Until then, more commitment from men will just produce more fucked over men. |

Only if you keep trading them in. Not so bad if you buy new and drive it 'till the wheels fall off. Plus, it's hard to beat that new car smell. |

2 years? F that, I just rotate them out when necessary. I'll never have the man involved in that aspect of my life again.

So your kids can wonder every two years if they'll have a joint home?

Quoted: A 2-yr commitment is still a commitment, and a message to the world. Think of it as a tiered approach. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Why call it “marriage”? That’s just moving in together. Moving in together is a commitment. A temporary play-marriage is jusr a message to the world that you’re a self important retard. Just shack up. Nobody cares about your “message”. |

I could get behind this. Then every 2 years during contract negotiations I could a minimum # of BJ’s in writing.

Just get the government out of marriage altogether. It should be between you, your spouse, and God.
The government has destroyed the institution of marriage through divorce and family courts. |

Shacking up, being well compensated, dogs instead of babies and a man who’s free to go if he’s not happy. Until the courts are reformed, I wouldn’t want to put a man I cared about in the position of being married. |
