EDUARD GISMATULLIN JANUARY 18, 2021
President-elect Joe Biden may fulfill a pledge to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline permit via executive action on his first day in office, CBC News reported, citing people it didn’t identify.

The words “Rescind Keystone XL pipeline permit” appeared on transition briefing note for Jan. 20 -- Inauguration Day -- circulated by Biden’s transition team over the weekend, according to the Canadian report.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said in a tweet and a lengthy statement that was “deeply concerned” about the report that Biden may repeal the permit, although such a move had been widely expected if Biden was elected.

“Doing so would kill jobs on both sides of the border, weaken the critically important Canada-U.S. relationship, and undermine U.S. national security,” Kenney said.

In May, Biden campaign policy adviser Stef Feldman said in a statement that the candidate had strongly opposed the pipeline during the Obama administration “and will proudly stand in the Roosevelt Room again as President and stop it for good by rescinding the Keystone XL pipeline permit.”

The Keystone XL pipeline has been controversial since first proposed more than a decade ago.

Opponents argue it will stimulate oil sands development, contributing to climate change. Canada’s oil industry argues the project is needed to supply heavy crude to U.S. Gulf Coast refineries, who need the oil to replace declining volumes from Latin America.

Its simple, kill the pipeline and you have to run the oil on track owned by Warren Buffet. They own all the track leading into the refineries.

‘Kill jobs, undermine national security’ seems to be exactly the platform he ran on, so this seems very plausible

I have been seeing some changes that indicate this to be coming.

Of course, every single democap president has had a recession their first term going back to at least Carter, so there is that too.

Exactly.

We are going to burn oil regardless of where it comes from. Pipelines are the safest way to transport oil.

This is purely an attack on the American economy.

Warren Buffett has a vested interest in the Keystone Pipeline going away.  He’s heavily invested in rail cars to transport crude oil.  So much for the environment if it gets in the way of a liberal making a profit.

It also scratches Russia's back.  Right now Biden is negotiating with Iran and Russia to restore the Iran nuclear deal.  The Russians are a key part of this deal so they are needed.  Included is the restoration of the Open Skies Treaty.   Also is raising oil prices to help out Russia's and Iran's economy.

Yep, I flat pulled this on a guy I know that believes the AGW bullshit... he said something like he hopes gas prices go up in the US (He's British).

I asked him why he hates poor people. We don't have public transportation over here like they do, so the poorer end is going to be hurt the worst. High gas prices, high electricity prices, high heating costs.

Flat ask anyone pushing that shit "Why do you hate poor people?"  Turn their tactics against them. Do it hard, do it often.

Because the alternate energy companies have been lining their pockets for decades.  Who was pushing solar and wind energy 20 years ago?  The liberals.  They have been putting politicians in their pockets since.  What's the best way to blow up the revenue stream for wind and solar companies, banning fossil fuels.

FJB. I read a news headline the other day saying his covid advisor was pushing for a 4 to 6 week shutdown, one of the reasons listed was to revitalize the economy. If that was actually proposed and not just media bullshit these people are even more removed from reality than I thought.

Higher taxes, higher energy costs, god knows what happens to the currently shitty health care situation but I have faith that Joe can make that worse too. What's not to like?

Also the pipeline transfers oil to refineries that process the 'heavy crude oil'.  Guess who else sends heavy crude to those same refineries, Venezuela.  Cancelling Keystone removes competition to Venezuela oil.  Our commies are just helping their commies.
