So, I have a crapton of these stored. Probably 1,000 or more. Since we are on the compound now and never leaving, I figured I would donate some. Took about 500 to the fire department & EMS station down the road. Nope, they don't want them.
Hospital happily took them. Maybe the guy there was a retard or something. |
|
I only have 20 masks here and probably will never need them.
Thought about donating them to the Sheriffs dept... but not sure if 20 would make much difference. |
|
They prob don’t want someone covid 19 positive to cough on the inside of all of them and get the whole team sick.
Unfortunately it’s a legitimate concern in today’s world. |
|
I have 20 at the surgery center when they are done so is our work.

They told me they weren't the right brand. They can only use ones branded 3m in some manner. Mine are made by some place called Sperian. Hospital was like "fuck yeah!"

If they don't want them, they don't need them.
If they needed them they would have wanted them!!! |

County here is taking donations to distribute to hospitals. Fire guys are stupid for turning down.
I’ve been looking for some for our SAR team but no go yet. We have zero masks, enough gloves though. |
|
Our personal inventory was 62. I have used ONE at work to secure an area where Coronavirus had been. My Wife is an EMT (becoming a Paramedic) so she is going to wait and see if they need them at her Station.
FWIW- She believes many people are using them too frivolously; “Hey I’m going to get a cup of coffee, better put a mask on”. |
|
Do you have any more? Our clinic only had about 20 on hand and can't source any more
PM me if so |
|
Donate them to the hospital........ get sick later and the same hospital will bill you $15k. Fuck them, they didnt prepare

Do people not understand how they don't wear out and they can be reused indefinitely?

Fire chief needs a reason for his department to shut down so he can go on vacation.

My wife's bank surplussed some of their pandemic supplies late last year. Bad timing. I took two boxes of N95 masks to use as dust masks when working around the house.
I gave them to a co-worker. His wife had a double lung transplant last year due to cystic fibrosis. Getting any respiratory illness could kill her. |
|
I gave 240 of our 3M N95 masks to our local hospital. Hell they are asking ladies to sew fabric masks, so I was pretty sure they would take these.

If you have anymore. There is a local primary care clinic that is in dire need of these. Please IM me.
Madison WI are. The docs there are using homemade mask to run a sick clinic. |

Cheap ass administrators didn't want to pay for storing basic safety supplies for their employees. And the employees (including doctors and nurses) didn't pay any attention and prepare either. Not exactly reassuring. |

Excellent OP. I actually found two boxes of them I had stored in my truck and forgot they were in there. I may have to hold on to them and use as trade fodder for TP or hand sanitizer.

Someone dotated a handfull to our ER today. They are very much appreciated.

Okay we have more going out to Madison. Thank you to GTHKTX who turned the offer so the clinic there could have them.

Today the Op was the coolest kid on the internet, well played Sir.

I did the same I had 2 boxes of 20 so I gave them to my cousin who is an ER Surgeon at the DMC in Detroit. He said he would get them to the people working directly with the patients that are being quarantined. Good job OP

I donated a few sleeves to the hospital I service monthly. They gladly took them.

My department is under orders not to accept outside donations. Food is the primary no no but it goes for pretty much anything anyone is giving off the street. No idea of the item’s history.

I've been getting emails from a Chinese supplier offering me n95 masks and surgical masks. Apparently they switched from selling packaging to masks. I wonder if they are any good, or if they come pre-infected.

My employees are using homemade masks. We are a personal assistance company serving elderly in their homes. We are doing everything by the letter of the law, but it is the hardest I've worked in years to keep it going and care for my clients and I'm not even on the front lines.

Hospitals need them badly. I just donated mine the other day. They have been using anything.
Thankfully an anonymous company in my AO just found 60000 in a warehouse and habitat for humanity donated 200000 to my local hospitals. Thats good for 2 weeks according to the local talking heads |
|
Okay, all of my masks have been handed out now. I will bump this thread if I find more.

Good on ya and thank you PikeSlayer!
My ex is an RN working at Parkland in Dallas, she told me they have to reuse PPE five times due to shortage. EDIT: same to all of you that are stepping up! |
