Its going to be a large pistol/rifle range.

The area is a desert savanah, with moderate rainfall. The primary species of plant is a rosehedge imported from Germany that has taken over the hundreds of acres including mine.

I intend to light it all on fire in the area I wish to colonize, and need a suggestion for a good species of grass to plant in the area that would completely take over. I.E. I want the grass to choke out anything else that tries to grow in the area.

Actually, it doesent have to be grass. If I can lay on it and it stays below calf level when it gets tall, it is acceptable.

Thanks for the input.
In ten years this place is going to be Disnyland for guns, I gurantee it.

Johnson grass would do it, but it grows pretty high.

How about Buffalo grass?
