Something reminded me of this old movie the other day, and I can't think of what the title is. Heck, it may even have been a TV episode from one of the "Twilight Zone" ripoff series.

Here's what I remeber:

I thought it had Gary Collins in it, but I may be wrong about that.

The basic story is, that there's this group of people on a boat, and they go to an island. While they are there, they realize that they are all dead and in hell. The last people to realize this are this guy (who I thought might have been Gary Collins) and his mistress. They think that they can't be in hell, because they're so in love and the guys wife isn't there. Then the guys wife pops in and says that when he was killed, she couldn't live without him, so she killed herself and now they could be together forever.

I don't remember it as a very good movie, just kind of funny in a way.

It could have been made anywhere from probably the late 60's to late 70's.

So, who is the king of B-movies here?

OK, I'll cancel that evil out with another one- The Armour hot dog song...

"Hot dogs!
Armour hot dogs!
What kind of kids eat
Armour hot dogs?
Fat kids,
Skinny kids,
Kids who climb on rocks.
Tough kids,
Sissy kids,
Even kids with chicken pox
Love
Hot dogs,
Armour hot dogs.
The dogs-
Kids-
Love-
To-
Bite...."

Wanna talk obscure movies?  How about this made-for-TV SHTF thriller:  http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0072400/:

Where Have All the People Gone?

Plot summary: A strange series of solar flares proves fatal for inhabitants of the Earth, except for the fortunate few who are somehow immune from the effects. Animals go insane and human beings turn to white powder, leaving behind only empty clothing. A handful of survivors attempt to rebuild their lives on the de-populated Earth.

--

I remember watching this when I was 10 years old.  In fact, this may have been my first encounter with the notion of SHTF.

Not van Gogh.  Edvard Munch -- "The Scream"

Edit:  Color looks off though.  Should be more red than orange.

I'm sorry it had to come to this.

I remember all my life
Raining down as cold as ice
A shadow of a man
A face through a window
Crying in the night
The night goes into

Morning, just another day
Happy people pass my way
Looking in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
you made me so happy, oh Mandy

Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Mandy
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
I need you today, oh Mandy

I'm standing on the edge of time
I Walked away when love was mine
Caught up in a world of uphill climbing
The tears are in my mind
And nothing is rhyming, oh Mandy

Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Mandy
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy

Yesterday's a dream I face the morning
Crying on the breeze
the pain is calling, oh Mandy

Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Mandy
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy

AAAAUGH!!! The horror- the horror!

I must combat this with a double-barrelled delivery of Terry Jacks' "Seasons in the Sun" and Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods' "Billy Don't Be a Hero" or else.....AAAAUGH! Make it stop!! Make it go away!! [shock] [:D]

You know what really pissed me off as a kid?
When people would write that shit on my notebook in school and just like you they spelled it wrong, it MAYER
I hated having the nickname of Oscar, so I had a dagger tattoed on my arm.
sorry it gets me everytime

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port,
Aboard this tiny Ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
The Skipper brave and sure,
Five passengers set sail that day
For a three hour tour.

A three hour tour. [ sound of thunder: crack! ]

The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew,
The Minnow would be lost.

The Minnow would be lost.

The ship's aground on the shore of this
Uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan, the Skipper too,
The Millionaire and his wife,
A movie star, ( and the rest ) the Professor and Mary Ann,
( All ) Here on Gilligan's Isle!

So this is the tale of our castways,
They're here for a long, long time
They'll have to make the best of things,
It's an uphill climb.

The first mate and ( his ) the Skipper too,
Will do their very best,
To make the others comfortable,
In their tropic island nest.

No phone(s)! No light(s)! No motor car(s)!
Not a single luxury,
Like Robinson C-ru-soe, it's primitive as can be.
So join us here each week my freinds,
You're sure to get a smile,
From ( For ) seven stranded castways,
Here on "Gilligan's Isle."

That is good.  I was trying to remember that one.  I was about the same age.  Here is the other movie that popped into my head:

The Disappearance Of Flight 412

All eyes are on US Air Force Flight 412 today as it heads out to test a new radar system. Previous attempts at the same mission have resulted in foul ups and errors; this time, the brass wants no mistakes. Colonel Pete Moore (Glenn Ford,) is on edge, but he has every confidence in his men, and at first, all seems to go well as Captain Roy Bishop (David Soul,) and his crew take to the skies. Then three unidentified blips appear on the screen, and when two Marine interceptors take off to go after them, they disappear. This is the beginning of an odd chain of events that has an unidentified agency taking command of Flight 412, with its home base being left out of the loop. Colonel Moore refuses to leave things alone, however, and he won’t let things go until he finds out exactly what is happening with his men…
