So Respawn (tiranfall guys) just launched their free to play Battle Royale Apex. Set in the Titanfall universe. Been playing it on XB1. Graphics are phenomenal and gameplay is awesome while being unique. No titans, but that's ok. I like the XP/RPG element to it as well. Just figured I'd post this for anyone looking for a time killer that's not infested with 10year olds. Also it already has a massive player base, 8 hours after launch yesterday it had 1 million players.

And they have characters you can level up with ultimates and special abilities kind of like RB6:Siege

Well i think they just purchased the company Respawn but I believe they were still 100% responsible of the game itself. Maybe EA is just the parent company?

ETA, I played it a bit this morning. Pretty interesting. The heavy social/MP stuff isn't really my thing, but it looks and plays well.

Truth.

Battlefield 2 was the last online shooter that I truly enjoyed.

I'm kinda curious if there's still a BF2 community out there. It's still in my steam library.

I'm pretty picky since I have limited time to play, but I tend to like BR games for the quick loop, so I can just put them down after a quick break and don't get sucked in for the rest of the night (I'm looking at you open world RPG's...)

indeed and this being a smaller map, with 64 players makes it much quicker and more action packed, not as much running around doing nothing.

all i want is a modern quakeworld, with grapples, rocket jumps, shamblers, runes and health. online version, not single player.

the cartoon stuff is fucked up, the building thing is stupid. last game i loaded was battlefield 1 and that was a frustrating game to play online.

Installed before dinner. About to fire it up in a bit. Should be interesting as I'm walking in nearly blind. I haven't watched a single video, or played any previous games in the Titanfalll series.

Installing now, as I head to bed. I've love to have a fun, multi player FPS game that I can jump into and out of relatively quickly. I don't have much time for games these days. My son lives/eats/breathes Fortnight, but I just don't seem myself ever getting into that.

Trying it now, did the training. From an FPS perspective way better than PUBG which is shit as an FPS.

ETA: Pretty nice shooter, much more fluid than PUBG. Feels Quakeish.

Been playing most the night... Love it!! Feels like old school Quake a little bit. Using the grapple is awesome. Makes PUBG feel like it's 20 years old.
