Newbies especially, but there are plenty of gun veterans who have little to no ammo on hand. Many of you guys were not old enough to buy guns in 2012/2013, and during the other cluster fuck gun panics, so you have no clue what that bullshit is like. I can promise you it sucks when you head to the gun shop / Walmart / online and you cant find a box of .22LR to save your life. The same goes when the cheapest ar-15 you can find is $1500 bucks, and 30 rd p-mags are $50.00.
Every store is flush with cheap easy to find ammo, cheap mags and cheap guns, and gun parts. you better be stocking up, and I don't just mean on guns, guns need ammo and spare parts. Get off your ass and start buying ammo. The 2020 election is not far away and you want to be sitting pretty when that bastard gets here. start stocking up. ( yes, be active as well and politic, contribute to progun orgs etc, but none of that will help you in a tard driven panic. ) Attached File |

also, you don't need to blow $1000 bucks at a time, or buy 1000 rounds at a time to get a ammo fort. I built my ammo fort by buying a few boxes of ammo at a time. the trick is when you want to go shooting, stop and buy ammo to shoot, shoot 1/2 of what you buy and stock pile the rest. once you take ammo home, you don't shoot it, you stick it in a ammo can and save it. before you know it you have a pick up truck load of ammo.
My score for this month was 3 bricks of 550 bulk .22LR from Walmart. even a little bit adds up quickly though. iv got around 25,000 rounds of .22LR in my fort by doing this. |

LOL, old guy checking in.
ALMOST thru my doomsday stash of primers, were $72/ 10,000. Been buying again though. Lived thru this bullshit too many times. |

<----FFL in Kentucky. I'd say I'm pretty well covered for guns.
As for ammo? I have been steadily rolling my own since 2007. I have a decent little stash built up, if I do so say. |

This is your weekly reminder.
I posted a thread awhile back about the same thing. Stack. It. Deep. |

Part of me for profit, part of me for the inevitable. I am too lazy to go to the store for primers and powder but really need to get some, don't even know wtf I'm looking for and can't get it online really. |

OP is right. If you are new in the game, then you need to make a dedicated effort This Year to get the ammo and potentially future banned stuff. You never know how bad the next shit show will be.

I have spent a lifetime passing on stuff I actually want to buy for stuff that one day MAY be banned even though I dont want it in the first place. This hobby/lifestyle SUCKS!

Lets just say my floor joists are braced from the weight of my ammo fort
Not joking either, and i am still buying it |

Meh, I'm done hoarding, that's all I'm saying. View Quote ETA to add that I sold over a dozen boxes of junk thunderbolt 22 for +$80 and shipping during the last panic that I had accumulated since I learned my lesson with 0 the first time. Every one I sold I started at $0.01, so that was what the market was at the time. |

I got my son-in-law on board. He has a nice fort, which is supplemented by my 2 Dillon 550's.

I’m going wait until the next panic.
I kid of course. I had plenty the last time the panic hit. |

I used to get a brick of .22 when I went to Walmart, inspired by a thread. When the supply became expensive and scarce I already had thousands of rounds.
I have enough of all my ammo to last the rest of my life probably, but then I'm old. |
|
|
I buy 1000 or 555 rounds of .22 every time I go to Walmart.
I can’t wait to panic sell 1/2 of it and pay off my house. |
|
The market will probably start heating up again when the Presidential election polls begin to be published.
|
|
I buy ammo, mags and lowers every month. WA State is the new Kali, and more shit is coming.
|
|
I need to start buying 223 again.
I've been shooting more and my stash is going down. |
|
I only have around 7000rds of 5.56 but I'm starting to think that is enough for me and I'm only going to replace what I shoot. I still need to get more rimfire ammo but other than that I'm good on gun parts and accessories.
I'm getting back into shotgun shooting and am going to focus my funding towards that. I have enough shotgun hunting ammo to get me by for the next 10yrs but only have enough target ammo for a year. I'm going to get stocked up on primed and shot. I don't know what to do about extra powder, last time I bought a few years worth it started going bad before I got it used up and I thought my house was controlled enough to limit humidity. I've spent the last decade spending all my fun money on stuff I thought was going to be banned or get hard to find and forgot about all the other fun stuff I used to spend money on. Sad thing is when stuff was hard to get or expensive last time around I was afraid to use what I did have even though I had more than enough to get me by until things calmed down. |

Op is correct. Just picked up some stuff Today from PSA that I don’t need just..because...

I've come to the conclusion that to really be panic proof you need 10 years of components/ammo on hand.

yea, i've probably bought 10,000 rounds in the past year. shot alot of it. but still have a good sized stash that keeps growing.

I have started to diversify my portfolio in different physical locations. Those inexpensive Plano gun cases are coming in handy. Rifle, handgun, ammo, mags, optics fit nicely in a neat package.

The restrictions on shipping ammo to Cali have limited the buying some...
