Greetings...

Some of you may know, but most won't, that a Board Member in good standing will be undergoing surgery today.

I am not at liberty to disclose the Member's name or the nature of the operation because I don't have his permission, and he earlier voiced concerns about letting the news out too soon. That said, I am not privy to all the details as I did not push to know.

I do know this: the surgery is serious; I'm talking SERIOUS, as in life-affecting SERIOUS. As such, I ask everyone who reads this to please remember him and his wife in their prayers.

I would like to add the following: This person is someone I met here and have spoken to via phone and across e-mail. He is the epitome of the stand-up guy. Hard-working, family-oriented, Christian, pro-gun, Conservative, a frequent poster, and a site supporter. In short, he is everything any of us have to admire in each other. On top of all that, I consider him a good personal friend despite the fact we've never met face-to-face.

Thanks in advance for your support. When he returns, he will share whatever he wishes to share, and I think it would do him and his wife a world of good to log on and see his on-line friends sending their support.

Mods, please tack for approximately one week. He promised to call me once he was back home. If I hear anything, I'll update this thread.

Godspeed, my friend. We'll be waiting for you...

I'll add another of my own for good measure.

Just so you guys know, he was worried sick last time we spoke, and he told me that the only thing keeping him on an even keel was his faith in the Lord, so believe me when I say that our prayers DO matter and that he WILL appreciate them.

While I'm not usually the praying kind, I DO believe in God, and I DO believe he hears and answers prayers; the member concerned, as well as [b]2IDdoc[/b], will be in my thoughts. I hope they both have a speedy recovery, and are able to rejoin us here soon.

Lord, reach out Your healing touch to this our brother, guide the hands of the surgeon(s) that they will operate with skill and knowledge, keep Your watch over him as he recovers from this event, and pour out Your Spirit to his wife and family that they may know Your peace that passes all understanding. Grant them a steadfast faith and make them secure in the knowledge that You are God. Restore our brother to his family and to us after this trial, that he may enjoy many more years in Your service on this earth. We ask this as our Lord prayed, not our will, but your be done. Amen.
