I am going to stock some AR parts and I'm wondering what everyone uses. Personally I don't have an issue with the Mil-spec trigger especially when I can get a total LPK with trigger for $30

MBT.
Huge upgrade over milspec, without costing an arm and a leg. |
I put a drop in trigger in my last AR build, if I build another it will have a drop in. The extra price is worth the whole 1 minute it took to drop it in and tighten the anti walk pins.
Rise Armament makes a nice trigger for under $100 bucks. |
I tend to avoid user specific stuff on a defensive rifle. Don’t want to get too used to crutches in case it isn’t my weapon I’m forced to use. I may polish a milspec but I haven’t had to.

I’ve always used the rock river arms 2 stage NM in everything just because it was consistent across all my ARs. Was thinking about getting something different for an ar10 and ar15 build I’m doing.
MBT? |
Enhanced Mil-spec
600 grit paper, diamond stone, dre mel polish and a set of JP springs makes a pretty nice trigger. Everyone’s been telling me since 2009 that it’s going to go south, go fill auto, wear through the case hardening, blah blah blah. Still waiting.... |
I have mostly MBT’s, with a Geissele here and there. I will be getting a TriggerTech AR trigger though, the TT I have in my Rem700 is amazing.

I have SSPs in two rifles and an MBT in the other. Life is too short to use heavy gritty mil spec triggers. I did have an aero trigger that is really nice but I still pulled it out and put an SSP in so it matched the twin.

One drop in, couple Geisseles, four or so MBTs. If I still have stock trigger in something, it's an accident.
I think RRA's 2 stage is a decent value and looks OK in a retro. |
All the above?
Picked up one of those $87 Larue triggers but haven't gotten around to installing it |
MBT's are good and priced great. If you want an upgraded mil-spec I'd recommend an ALG ACT.
Then there's Gieselle. |
Well if any of you bros wanna send those milspec triggers my way. My im is open
I have SSA-E, SSA, and MBT on mine. Once you go enhanced, you can't go back.
I like the Geissele triggers, but I can shoot just fine with a milspec trigger. I actually think I prefer the feel of a standard milspec trigger over the enhanced nickel plated milspec triggers I’ve tried.
I just use milspec triggers. I am not a good enough shot to really capitalize on an upgraded trigger.
My wallet hates trigger upgrades.
I cannot use mil spec triggers anymore |
All the above poll failure....
Mil spec in my 9mm PCC's. They work the best with my bolts.. Drop in CMC in one of my 5.56 SBR's. G triggers or MBT's in the rest of my AR's. I retired my last RRA 2 stage not long ago. Just like my first one, it turned into a twitchy, unpredictable single stage trigger with in a few K down range... never again. |
ALG ACT or I polish the mil spec and use jp springs, makes a big difference over stock. I'm going to order an MBT for my next one after hearing all the rave reviews. No way I am forking out $300+ for a trigger though.

Last 2 builds I used MBTs and I have replaced the trigger in and older AR with an MBT
at the current price its an amazing upgrade |
I use the Larue trigger that everyone gets hyped up and crazy about.
FYI the UnbrandedAR LPKs are straight from China
I have 2 MBTs, a Geiselle G2S, a mil spec with JP springs, a couple of mil spec, a couple of nickel plated milspec, and a CMC drop in They all have their uses |
All three. Don't need a Giselle/CMC/RRA in some carbines but they are nice in some rifles. Some GI triggers are okay. Some just cry out for replacement with an "enhanced" trigger than doesn't wear your finger out trying to get to the point where it releases the hammer.

Mil spec. But I'm old school and collect mil rifles so it suits my needs moar betta.
I'm a trigger snob.... Have everything from hyperfire to timney to elftman .... Hyperfire for the win.
Milspec |
Giessele G2S is my go to trigger.
But I just got a couple of LaRue MBTs to try. |
Another Geissele snob checking in. I love their SSA 2 stage trigger. It’s like a mid-length & hammer forged barrels—can’t go back.....
Both? MilSpec on rifles with irons or red dots, 2stage on rifles with glass.
I used to just use Mil-Spec before I knew what a good trigger was
For how cheap LaRue MBT’s are, everyone should have one |
