I liked what he was doing music wise back in the "Thriller" days. A lot of the music business gave him credit for single handedly saving the industry when things were in the shitter and the public was just about to pull the handle.
Combine a talented person, some serious mental problems, unlimited money and the adoration of millions and you end up with this:   I can only call Jackson a Freak. Nothing else comes close. I hope they get him locked up ASAP so he can never harm another child. Should have happened years ago but our society values money and celebrity over justice (O.J. anyone?) and he got away last time. I think the jig is up for The Freak. |

I think when the last incident he had several years ago that was settled out of court for a whopping $24 million dollars explained everything to me. The parents should have been strung up for accepting the payoff.

Well, if the abuse had already happened - and you could choose between a $24 Million settlement (which can buy a LOT of therapy and treatment for your child) or you can get nothing, and watch the long drawn-out circus of lawyers being paid $24 Million to get him off - which would you choose?? I agree he could come up with the bail and get out quickly. $300,000 cash which he does not get back. He also has to put up something that is worth the 3 million (like his home)to secure the bail.
In some ways I agree that the parents in the first case should have prosecuted and then sued civily after the trial. But what if he was found not guilty? I agree with another poster that 24 million can buy a lot of therapy. As for the locked thread that asked "Why are they negotiating with him?" and "Why don't they just go get his ass?" My guess is that they are negotiating with his attorneys, they may not know exactly where he is. If the warrant has been issued and he is seen by Law Enforcement he will be picked up. I would love to be the one to arrest him and book him into our county jail. |

How can it be that the bail is already set, when he hasn't even been arrested, much less arraigned? One news article read to me by one of my employees quoted the sheriff as saying "the bail will be set at $3m." Since when does a sheriff "set" bail? I thought a judge did that. This story is very strange. Don't get me wrong; I find this nut-job to as objectionable as the next guy. It just seems like the California law enforcement community is more worried about making a big splash on the headlines than by building a proper case that can be prosecuted through to a conviction.

The laws were changed after that case happened. For what it's worth the kid can now be forced to testify in court. The kid in this case has all ready filed a statement on what happened from what I have heard and the family has not even filed a civil suit yet giving me the impression they want MJ to go down for the crime. |
