I've heard that these are pretty damn good and underrated as hell

what do I need to know about these, other than probably having fun finding mags and holsters?

I really need to pick one of these up. Very nearly bought a Mk. 6 earlier in the year but I ultimately decided I'd wait until I could find a Mk. 12.

Another very under rated CZ clone is the SAR B6P.
Mine will shoot with my CZ's,no problem.
Runs 100% with any ammo i feed it.

Sorry OP.
Did not mean to hijack.Forgive me bud.

The GP isn't a CZ clone, it uses a rotating barrel system somewhat similar to the Beretta PX4.

IIRC someone here is a friend of the designer.

Grand Powers arent CZ clones.  They're rotating barrel.

They are a nice pistol.  I have an older one, and it has the best trigger or any polymer pistol I've shot.

It's CZ in the "grip zone".

Bigthicket is correct about the SARs. Excellent value, I have two.

They can use modified CZ mags, and the factories are somewhat near each other so I can see the confusion.

Sarsilmaz makes a good pistol; the Canik CZ clones are good too.

I need to pick up a SAR K2-45 eventually as well.

I'd never heard of those, I'll have to check them out.

Same here.

Is "Grand Power" the brand or the model? Who makes it? Where is it made?

It's the brand name. There are a couple of different models; the full size-one in the picture is the K100. They were designed by a former Slovakian army officer and are made at a plant in Slovakia. CAI used to import them; they may still.

I have a Sar K2 in 45 ACP.  It's a great pistol; reliable, good trigger, nice fit and finish.  Unfortunately, it's obscure and accessories are not available for it and long term parts availability is questionable.  I'm not sure I'd buy an obscure (but modern) pistol again even if it was a great pistol.

I test drove one when they first came into the country--STI was selling them as the GP6, IIRC.  Great pistol, though I thought STI was asking too much for them.  As mentioned, a rotary action, very easy to cycle (I'd recommend it as a woman's gun for that reason).  Great trigger and reset, and very accurate.  I compared the gun to my CZ P01, side by side they were almost identical in shape, contour and size.  As mentioned, though, NOT a CZ clone.  I was very impressed.  J&G was selling them for $300 a couple of years ago.  I wish I'd bought one then!

There's a new importer. There's also a longslide 10mm out there. I've owned a few, they're great guns. Some from the original run, ie. century imported, can be found on Gunbroker. They've been marketed rather poorly in the US.

No kidding.  They (IMHO) need to be imported by someone like Wilson Combat, that can charge an appropriate price and get away with it.

That is exactly what happened when STI was selling them.  They way overpriced the gun, thus not selling many.

I remember that, that's when I first found out about them circa 2009-10

IIRC STI priced them at like $600ish

From everything I've read on them they really should be more popular than they are
