I have a good bud who is a police officer, former army, huge family guy, doesn't drink, likes guns and golfing when he has any time to himself.

We don't get to hang out all that much as he's 1/2 way across the country from me, but we exchange bday gifts and try to keep it around $50 or so... I could get him some golf balls or gift card to gun shop or something but I'm looking for ideas of inexpensive toys/gadgets/tools that you guys may have gotten in the past that you found really cool/useful.
