Kind of a feeler out post to see how the membership feels about these old school ( early 1900s semi auto rifles )
I have had about half dozen vintage models in my collection thru the years and am thinking of parting ways with them Not sure listing them on the EE here would spark alot of interest ... ? Maybe - maybe not ? This thread might sway me one direction or the other

There is a few of us that have one on here.
This one was dad's Model 81 in .300 Savage rifle he used since 1949 I believed. I've never hunted with it but shot it a few times in the 90's.  Attached FileETA: Any pics of yours? |

List them on the EE, there are a few guys here that collect them.
If prices are reasonable they'll sell quickly. |

OP, are yours listed on Gunbroker (just saw a couple listed from Washington)?
Looks like a nice-ish one goes for about $599. That's about $200 less then the beat to shit ones I saw at Gander Mountain. Someone in Cali has a police model, bids starting at 8K. |

Neat old rifles. I have a model 8 in .35 remington that was made on 1906....still kills hogs quite dead.

Oh man!
My grandfather had a Remington model 8/81 (cannot recall which, it's been years) in .35rem that he carried and used deer hunting. I believe it was my first center fire rifle shot by me. Would love to find one to rekindle those memories. |

Unless you need the money right now, or these aren't in very good condition, I'd hang on to them.
If they are in less than desirable condition, people do seem to be paying too much for them now, which could be to your advantage. IMO early, great condition ones, will keep their value, no matter what. Even though the 25 cal. ones are harder to find, most people seem to want the 35 Remington models, because the ammo is still widely available, and it's a good deer cartridge. |

wait for "The Son" to get a through another season and prices should go up (bronson carries a winchester but other characters carry the model 8) krags, wsl, remington 8's should see a gain in popularity - everyone wants a lewis gun right?

Yea the model 8 forum is a ghost town
I listed 1 of the .35 rem cals on Gunbroker and it sold for a fair price ( $550 ) The other 6 rifles are in much better condition than the 1st I sold so I am guessing $600-800ea approx ? Have another listed on GB right now. Seems like all the bidding is final minutes. Hopefully get a fair price out of the .32 Rem calibre I have listed there we shall see .......... |

Very cool guns but I would not post them here unless you enjoy constant bumping. Match your product to your audience. Really good deals on stuff the membership doesn't care about at all stagnates on the EE daily but sells like gangbusters on sites that focus more on that sort of thing.
That said I don't think those are all that much money anyway. |

Not in as good as shape as others in this thread, but I enjoy it along with another early semi-auto.
Nothing wrong with the EE here, but I think you'd be better off selling it on gunbroker if you have a decent number of sales with a good rating. |
