I still have the original John Titor thread in my subscribed-threads list. However I cannot go to any page -- it returns me to the general selection.

The thread disappeared without a trace.

This thread is not meant to dupe off the other, active thread. Rather, I'm genuinely curious if there's been anything uncovered as far as how and why the other thread disappeared completely except for existing in folks' subscribed lists, and how none of the mods or site staff have admitted nuking it (if they did it at all).

Has anyone uncovered anything? Any scuttlebutt on how that went down? That was a truly puzzling arfcom experience.

Note -- please don't piss in this thread regarding the content. It was a fun thread and a great read. Focus on the disappearance please, not the thread content.

Yes and site staff, thus far, insists that it wasn't nuked.

Not sure if that was part of a running gag (not accusing anyone of anything).

Once upon a time, a while ago, there was a glitch that gave some random people admin level powers for a short time.

Who knows what the hell whomever did. Probably not everyone who discovered it ever talked.

Someone went back to before the thread was started, and never started it. There are still leftover artifacts of the original thread, but mostly just memories. It's like the photo in back to the future, where someone disappears but there's still an empty space where they were standing instead of the remaining people just next to each other.
