I will try to respond to your question with a mention @
or if you need me, PM or @ me.

---

Number one things you should do to your kia

Change oil every 4000 miles or 6 months, or 3000 miles or 6 months if you have a turbo engine, most likely you fall under severe driving conditions so you can't go the full 8000 or 1 year, just change it, or bad things can happen.

Change your trans fluid every "60k severe" to "100k normal" with oem fluid, DCT and old school manuals are 75k, I don't care what the manual says, ignore it, i have seen to much shit first hand, "lifetime fluid is bullshit"

Differentials and PTUs vary a bit but 75k is a good rounded off number.

We ABSOLUTELY HATE aftermarket remote starts, i cant say for other manufactures, but are systems are sensitive anytime you tap in to something that was not designed to have any more strain on it, they can fuck up so much stuff its crazy, dash clusters, radios, power locks, freaking engine control problems, list goes on, OEM remote start or bust.

For god sakes if you're going to buy a Kia and you want one with the sunroof buy one with the sunroof and don't make some aftermarket company install one

Why the fuck do I have to walk like 8 miles to fetch 9 cars/SUVs when I am loading at the plant in West Point?  I mean, seriously.  I'll have cars from one side of the staging area to another.

Just bought a '17 Sportage SX turbo for the wife.  We've only put a few hundred miles on it, but it seems like a nice little SUV so far.

Serious question....

How many cars has your dealership warranties past the 100k limit?

Kia warrantied an alternator for me with over 1000 miles past the warranty.

I sold my Kia with around 150k on it, it was in the shop less than my current Ford with 35k on it

Wife drives an 08 Santa Fe w/ V6 - coming up on 180k, has been a great vehicle. Pondering go to KIA and replace it with 15, 16, possibly new 17 Sorento with V6 (really have a hard time buying new).  Of those choices, what do you like / would recommend to avoid?  Final loaded question - will said Sorento - treat us as good as the ol Santa Fe has?  Thanks much for any feedback.

That's not why they have a 10 year 100K mile warranty.  They have that warranty because the initial cars were complete pieces of crap and they have to have the extended warranty so people won't be afraid of getting a lemon.

Now that I've had my Kia for several years and I'm tiring of it, should I sell my Soul? How much should I sell my Soul for?

The new 8 speed in the cadenza, that for some reason they are NOT alowing hyundai to have is super smooth, it's a in house design, the stinger I don't know might be dual clutch, might be a converter, or both. Yes that is a thing, probly in house to, they don't want to fuck up like honda and mess with ZF shit

Why is the resale value complete dog shit. The kia dealer gave us the worst  offer of any dealeship on our 2012 sorento. After paying on it for 3 years on a 6 year loan, we owed more then it was worth. We traded the kia for a rav4, and will never own another kia.

I took a pistol class in the area that two Hiawatha police officers attended.  Nothing related to this thread but seemed like a good idea to mention.    ETA:  They seemed like good guys too, was in 2009.

Dumbass question my google-fu is failing me on: the hood sensor on my 2012 sorento is not adjusted correctly, so it randomly sets off the alarm.  Is there an easy way to fix this myself other than trial and error adjustment?
