Got you beat by 2 degrees.
Tonight Clear, with a low around -27. Wind chill values as low as -40. West northwest wind around 5 mph. |
|
Fuck that, I had to remove my jacket at the company Christmas party tonight. My wife had to remove her wrap, it was just too warm.
|
|
I worked in my garden this afternoon in shorts and a t-shirt. But it is going to get down to the high 30's tonight.

Christmas day 1984 was the coldest I've ever experienced. 5 degrees. The toilet was frozen solid. All of the pipes burst. It didn't get above 32 until Jan 3rd IIRC.
I fucking hate the cold. |
|
I walked In a forest at -40. The tree sap was popping like pop corn. Was really cold.

View Quote Bring it on! Love the cold. |

I have a separate well building about 60' from the house. I have a heat lamp on the pressure tank and piping.
While in the shower this morning just at the time I've had shampoo on my head the water cuts out, "shit the well shack's frozen". The bulb went out and the below zero temps at night froze the water line, sure as hell the pressure tank's empty. Now there's a new heat bulb and a milk heater clicking on every two hours for twenty minutes I love the little winter surprises. |

I can't imagine what kind of person enjoys cold. It is miserable, causes so many problems.

Supposed to hit -19 in a couple hours. I still need to get the snow drifts moved out of my driveway. Fuck winter.

46* and rain here at 6:00 AM, beats the slop out of the mess going on in the midwest and NE. I also HATE the cold....
|
|
If I can play in the cold ie. ice fishing, cross country skiing etc. I don't mind. If it's cold and I can't play then bummer
|

70 Fing degrees this morning at sunup. here. 70 degrees and 100% humidity.

I'm guessing right about now everyone is thanking God that Obama gutted all those coal fired power plants.

At 5:40 this morning it was -20F. now at 6:22 a.m. it is -24F. NWS predicted -27F. for overnight low ... ain't there yet!

The deer woods in my backyard are silent. Not a creature is stirring at -9.

It got down to -18F for a few hours last night. I spent most of the night on an airport ramp hopping in and out of a truck, checking the heat on a bunch of planes. My shift is almost over...
I'm fucked up enough in the head that I kind of enjoy the cold. ETA: Just got home. -19F here. |

My cat is tougher than most. He went out this morning around 2:45 a.m. without boots, gloves or a hat.
I was out doing my morning walk at 6:30 a.m. after letting the cat in, temp was 13 with a wind. Don't bother with wind chill as it's a made up number. Either you're cold, warm or hot. You just have to deal with it. Adapt or hibernate. |
|
times like this I am happy to live in Anchorage AK where we rarely get below zero temps for more than a week or two per winter
we just did a couple weeks of neg 10 to +10 and that system is what the midwest has now |
|
Currently -13 (which is warmer when I drove to work 3 hours ago) but feels like -30.
And it does feel like -30. Fuck this. |
|
I want to check it out. Coldest I've ever been out in is single digits with gusty winds.
|

Last night it's was in the 70's. Now it's 42.
I'm heading up to Iowa today...I think I'm lacking in the cold weather clothes dept. |

Life threatening weather conditions up here right now. No fucking around here. I'm going to the store today before I leave to get the appropriate clothing. Luckily I'll be indoors (non climate control warehouse), but still. |

How the hell can anyone live or function in that type of weather? Yesterday, I planted 7 shrubs while wearing sweat pants and a short sleeve t shirt.... I was sweating. The temp will drop here in Huntsville, AL but nowhere close to -'s. You guys are nucking futts for living in that.

Vehicles, they are a bit more hit and miss, especially when trying to keep warm. Keeping a 100°F differential in the cabin is a big task for a car blower fan. The new cars all start and run great, and remote start is a plus. Houses, insulation, and stuff like fleece and felt. And Thick Blood. 50 is T-shirt weather for sure, if there's no wind, sometimes lower. I'd rather have the heat though, since you can always cool off, unless out of water. This sort of cold makes you dead. |

The high here today is -2. Wind chill was -25 last night. Also got about 5 inches of snow on top of the 7 we already had on the ground.

-28 when I went outside in my underwear and t shirt for my morning piss...
