Believe it or not, Wal-Mart.
I bought some foam a few years ago to line a carrying case. Thick foam, and cheap! Head for the Fabric (sewing) section of the store. |

I buy my locally from a foam store - check your yellow pages under "foam" there's a handful in mine.

You don't want closed cell sponge rubber. The "egg crate" type foam is an open cell urethane.
Closed cell is too firm and has too much memory--it takes a fierce compression set. If you can't find it at WalMart (sporting goods section camp mats), try craft stores. If you really need closed cell sponge, email me at the address in my profile. I'll hook you up. |

We just ordered about $400 worth of foam to finish the 'ham can' camper from [url]http://www.efoamstore.com[/url]. After extensive research for online suppliers, these guys came up as one of the cheapest, and their customer service/delivery was great.

I think any drug store would carry foam, but be reminded, its not as effective as a condom or the pill. [:D]

I haven't seen the padding on this stock, but I have to imagine that it's somewhat denser/tougher than standard plumbing pipe insulation. I have a source for this type of material.
