I just got done talking to an Army recruiter and I told him id join. I didn't sign any papers or anything but I have several waivers to get to. Did I just make a great decision? A fucking awful one? Tell me about your experiences.
All my experiences were before this liberal progressive shmuck turned us into the Rainbow Coalition in camoflauge so I'm not sure my experiences would be able to help you.
No obligation until you sign....your experience is solely based on you....some love it some hate it
I loved it |
Not a mistake, but you might want to check out all the services so you can make the best decision for yourself. |
In regards to your thread title, you didn't do a damn thing.
At the very least you wont have pictures of kenyan1 all over the fucking orderly room.
It's just like prison. Walk in and hit the largest recruiter right in his ugly ass face to establish dominance. Probably a good idea to make a joke about fucking his mom/tranny/gf or whatever he's into as well.

After you enlist, let the military pay for your college so you've got decent options after you get out.

I read your user name as big gal three times... sorry, I apologize, but it is GD
for the love of god, atleast pick a MOS thats worth something when you get out. *ud besurprised how much airplane/helicopter mechanics make on the outside
fuk i'd go if they'll waiver my old ass. For every ounce of WTF there is 5 of Hell Yeah!!
You actually have until the UCMJ class the first week of basic to get out free and easy. Until that class, the three or so oaths you take don't really mean it. Now a days with PC shit and stress cards, the military isn't hard.
Depends on how you pronounce your username, I guess. One way and you're extremely popular, the other way you're rather average and might have trouble with the tape test.
Since it seems like you enjoy making impulsive bad decision, I might humbly suggest you try really hard for Army Infantry and work on getting assigned to Korea straight out of basic.
If you're freakingbout to a bunch of strangers on the Internet... Maybe it's not for you champ.

I read bi gal.
First thing I remembered were all the female drill instructors the women had. |
Good or bad decision? Only you can answer that question.
How's your wisdom? IMHO, it's a privilege to serve your country. |
If you aren't sure, you should probably not join. Not trying to be a dick, just saying it an important decision that should be at your cores resolve.

They are accepting waivers right now? For what? Well, OP is in Montana, so probably busts for smoking the reefer and fucking a sheep. So you are thinking the same as me, Infantry on the DMZ. Should fit right in. |

Ever watch a TV Special about Green Berets and wonder if you have what it takes to be part of the SOF brotherhood? I don't.
Ever watch 9/11 footage and wished you could have done something to avenge the deaths of the 2996 person murdered by Islamic Terrorists? I don't. Ever hoped you could be part of something bigger than yourself? I don't. 18Z50...... |

do not believe a word they say they LIE! get EVERYTHING in writing, and READ everything before placing your john handcock on the paperwork!

You've done nothing at this point. There's a good chance they don't even want you.

My brother went a couple years later and he never saw one either. Just wondering if they're actually out there or just a military urban legend. |

View Quote If it isn't in your contract you are not getting it. If you get Airborne or a Ranger contract and fail your PT test you going to Ft Polk the worst duty station in the Army. They will have you decide on retirement plans as well. old plan stay in 20 yrs or more get a paycheck and med care, bad thing don't make it to 20 you may get zero. New shitty retriement plan is a 401k plan that is good if you don't think your gonna stay in. http://militarypay.defense.gov/Portals/107/Documents/BlendedRetirementDocuments/FAQ%20for%20BRS.pdf |

I did three years active and then used my Army college fund money to finish school. I went a lot of places and did a lot of things I wouldn't /couldn't have as a civilian. More memories and more intense memories from those three years than in the 30 years after. I do not regret it. |
Did 10 years, got fucked up in Iraq.... I wish I could have stayed. I work for the ARMY today, I love it!!!
Go on young man, do it!!! |

No thank you (young guys don't know or care about what this means). College paid for after a couple of years if you need that, hell ya. My bad taste is that I was at, literally, the very bottom of my very larger graduating HS class, and they tried their damnedest to recruit me. Records showed I might have had a hard time wiping my own ass, yet they wouldn't quit calling, even offering to take me to lunch when I told them I had to work after school. My understanding now is that being a recruiter is a rather high stress life. Knew a guy that ended his after a couple of years in it. Know another guy that did his time as a medic and has a nice bit of property. |
