North Carolina - Durham Responds to Gun Violence
Research funded by the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence and conducted at the University of North Carolian's Injury Prevention Center found that Durham's firearm death rate was much higher than the national average and higher than the state's as well. Durham community leaders are organizing a series of neighborhood meetings to address gun violence in the city. North Carolina has among the weakest gun laws in the country.
