Jeeps that is. Camp Jeep is in full swing about 2 miles from here. I couldn't even begin to say how many Jeeps are here and license plates from all over. I have some pics but can't get to the photo server right now. Will post them later. Any ARFCOM members there? Know anyone there?

I don't know about the mechanics. But the stores that sell gas are packed. They even have vendors set up selling all kind of Jeep Parts and accys.

As promised a few pics of the surroundings. I didn't have the $$$ to get in. The quality of some of the pics went downhill when I resized them. Anyway, CJ 2003 is over.

That flag is HUGE! Look at the car at the base of the pole for size comparison.

Cool race course. Where are the grandstands? [%|]

I bet the flag weighs more than the car also!

That 1 mile track is mostly for horses although a motorcycle race is sch'd. for Aug. 2 there. Track was built around 1910 by Wall Street Tycoon Thomas Fortune Ryan (died 1928)and later restored by the new owner of Oak Ridge.

The Flag is brought in here from California IIRC. Thats what I was told last time Camp Jeep was held here.

Redray, that ufo had JEEP on both sides of it. Now that you mention it, it doe's look strange.

No grandstands at the track. Built for tailgating only at the present point in time.

They are working their off duty hours for security for Camp Jeep.

Big Bear, I've heard it called the Superflag by workers there.

Now that is a big flag. I wonder how you can secure a pole like that in the ground without a serious risk of it being uprooted.

That flag looks like a Ski Demski "superflag," the largest American flags in the world. He was a local icon who died last year. RIP
