I wouldn't pursue that thing into heavy cover without a .577 Nitro for backup! Be careful for gawds sake! I heard about a PH who was once pummeled by one.

What is Gray Davis doing in your yard? If you shoot the Governor, won't you get in trouble?

Hope that you are not planning to use an "ASSAULT" .22 cal air rifle out there.  We may see you on the news tonight.

i took that photo about 3 min before i saw the rat...and yes, the rat is big, i do have a boa that could take it no problem, but wild rats are not good snake food, they are mean...feeders are dumb and pretty laid back about dying.

no joke!

there are a few things left over from some inside house cleaning that are in line for trash.  but id say the pile is 90% firewood waiting to be cut up and burned.

Sorry, but according to CRS 69.69.69 rats are a "protected species" Killing a rat is punishable up to 10 years in prison and $350,000 fine. The only thing you can legally kill in California is yourself.

I was in the NYC subway system last week.  That rat is strictly "first trimester" compared to what I saw.

no, i want to too!  the same spider had a smaller bee kill yesterday.

it is a lynx spider, family oxyopidae...they pounce on their prey like a cat and use no web for capture.  this one has a small bunch of status(flower) as his hunting grounds, hes been in same spot for over a week.

You got a pet spider too. Yours is way cooler than mine.

I got a black widow in the garage, with an egg sack. I am waiting for them to hatch.

I kinda feel bad cause then I am going to burn em. If they were outside I wouldnt mind but she is right by the reloading press.

A .22 or pellet rifle are great. Get a 10/22 with a can if its legal where you are, and you dont already have that :)

A cat also works great for mice.

I shot a Rat once...I walked in my room and there was a rat right in the center of the room, eating from some packets of Jelly that somehow got left out. I kept a .22 by the door. So, when I saw the rat...I grabbed the rifle and chambered a round.

The rat took right as I fired. The rat went wacko at that point...running around aimlessly. I chambered another round right as it ran under a piece of paper. So, I fired through the paper. The rat ran out and behind my dresser. It never came out...So, I figured it had gotten away.

About a week later...my room really started to stink. Turns out, my first shot took off part of the side of its head, disorienting it. The second shot (through the paper), hit the rat right in its testicles. It died with seconds after running behind the dresser.

I should mention that the rat was in front of my bed, which was made from thick wood and was in front of a wall made of concrete blocks. So, there wasn't much chance of overpenetration. Didn't matter anyways as both shots entered the floor after hitting the rat.

Colibris are great ammunition for such situations...They don't make any noise and the will kill a rat.

Why dont you train that fuckin spider to kill the rat, then kill the fuckin spider?

What are your coordinates? I'll call the airstrike in myself.
