My parents have a friend of their (my brothers X girlfriend) watching their house while they are out of the country.  My wife called over there and a guy answered the phone and hung up on her when she asked for this girl.  When I got home from work I called and damit, the guy hung up on me.  I was concerned for the girl and my parents house, so I rolled over there with my carry pistol (concealed).  I opened the front door (locked) and it was silent.  The girls car and my parents car were all there so I figured someone was in the house. Nothing looked out of place so I scanned the doorway, corners and went to my dads room slowly and quietly to check his safe.  It was fine so I creeped out through the hallway to check the other rooms and I saw a guy with green hair laying in my parents guest room with his eyes closed.  I kept one eye on him for about two minutes and confirmed he was sleeping (more like passed out).  At this point, I did not want to confront the guy since all I could see was his head because a blanket was over him.  No other sounds in the house.  I slowly backed up and went out back to contemplate.  What the hell do I do?  This guy could know the girl watching the house but for all I knew she was tied up in the closet.  Since one person could not effectively clear a 4 bedroom house, I called 911.  The cops were there within 2 minutes (wow).  They searched me and locked my Glock up in their car, then asked me where this guys was.  The 3 cops cleared the house and cuffed this guy (who was naked) and sat him in my parents office.  It turns out he was this girls NEW boyfriend whom I had never seen before.  The girl was out with another friend at the time.  When I asked him why he hung up on me he said because he was "sick", he insisted that he knew my parents etc...  I had the cops escort him to the street and sent him hoofing.  For a while, I thought that I over reacted by calling the police.  But given the unknowns, I am glad I did.  I am now watching my parents house.

So you were on your parents private property, plus had a license to carry and they still searched you and took your gun?  I wouldn't have liked that.  Did you explain to the 911 operator that you would be waiting for the officers to arrive or could they have thought you were the strange guy that was reported?

Yeah the dispatcher asked if I was armed and I said yes.  I was walking towards my Jeep from the side of the house when they came up and they were obvisouly nervous.  I was not expecting them so fast.  I put my arms up in the air told them who and was and that I was armed.  That is just how the handled it, I figured it best to play by their rules.  They did not ask me for my permit, private property not needed.  But I was surprised by them not asking me for ID. They were cool enough so I didn't sweat it.

I think it's just a matter of the LEOs first getting control over the situation and then sorting it out.  Sounds like evrything was cool when your story checked out.

I think you did the right thing.  Who knows what that doofus would have done in the house (pawning TVs, etc.)?

You did right by calling the LEO's.

Glad everything worked out.

What's the comment from your brothers X girlfriend. It seems like she's the one who screwed up. She's out with another friend and leaves him in the house?? I'd called the cops too.
