I do, but I don't remember which model. It is great every where but indoors. Indoors, I just turn them off.

Peltor HD10B - the behind the neck type. 28dB NRR, passive. Work good, last long time. Hearing loss bad. Peltor good.

I've got 2 of them. One is just a regular headset, the other is a 6, it has electronic noise limiters. The electronic Peltors are the best. They shut down noise spikes fast, and turn back on quickly so that you can understand speech.

Peltor Com Tacs. Work great, but there is a "learning curve" with them for actual tactical use. If you are planning on using them for operational stuff, train extensively with them first.

I have a set as well and enjoy them. When shooting indoors (as I RARELY do) I'll where EAR plugs with the muffs.
Outdoors they're good enough for solo shooting. When I shoot with a crowd where the gun blasts can come from along side and even behind I'll double up too. |

Works great for ourdoor pistol, you really can converse while shooting is going on because they cut in and out so fast around the shots. They also fit great around stocks. With rifles and shotguns, or indoors, I double up with earplugs (which I did anyway before I got them). With the mics turned up all the way you can still talk normally through the plugs, and have great protection. |

OT(off-topic): Everyone should keep in mind that sound is also transmitted thru your bones in your head etc. Even though you use super-hearing protectors, you will still experience some hearing loss.

The sound cuts out completely when there is a loud noise, so it can make it difficult to communicate on the range sometimes. The COMTAC's have much better sound quality and I am told that they don't cut out completely when people are shooting. I did notice that wearing 6's in the field while hunting I had to get used to the loud crashes everytime I took a step. They make an armadillo crashing through the brush sound like a bull elephant. Some people advocate having these in your safe room for home defense so, God forbid, if you had to open up with a long gun like a shorty AR you could still have some hearing left afterwards. Which would make it easier to communicate with your spouse, reponding emergency personnel, etc. Plus you have "superhuman hearing" while you wear them. |

I'm not sure offhand, but I would check with Natchezss.com. The COMTACS are a little harder to find in stock since they are newer.

I've been using the Tac 6 for a couple of years and really like it. When shooting indoors I use plugs underneath. I think my next set will be the Com Tac because it provides provides better sound attenuation.

Tac 7's. Best thing since sliced bread.
Planning to switch to 6's since the large cups on the 7's interfere with getting a proper cheek weld on long guns for me. |

... Peltor Tactical 6S (mine has a Dillon Precision overstamp) are the only way to shoot!

I have both the Peltor Tac 6 and 7. My son prefers the less bulky 6 while my wife and I use the 7s.

Do you need to turn off the Tac 6, 7 and ComTacs when you're shooting at an indoor range? Nope, the speakers turn off quick enough. The reason I wear plugs indoors and with rifles/shotguns is because in that circumstance it is so freaking loud that the muff themselves are not enough and I add plugs. Before I went high tech I also used both when indoors or busting rifle caps. |

Had a pair of Tac6's that I sold to get some Peltor's for me and the wife. Both have pro's and cons, but I would have to say I'd take either one buying new.
