good reminder considering I was planning on joining the guard. worst part is they are getting the same pay.

Now that's pretty damned funny. I guess noone ever told them that there might be a chance that they would get activated and, god forbid, go to war. Isn't being in the military one big hastle after another?

You don't mean "drill" pay, do you? While deployed, guardsmen make the same as regular troops (which sucks, anyway).
