Imagine having that set-up in .50 BMG or .338 Laupa Magnum.

To me, those defeat the purpose of a rifle. Those are more like machines than rifles.

Since it's not designed to be fired from the shoulder it's technically not a rifle. According to the letter of the law you could build a semiautomatic one that takes detachable magazines, has a threaded muzzle AND a bayonet lug.

I got to shoot one in 6mm PPC once. Had a 2 ounce trigger pull. Strange device, but I don't understand the attraction.

is it a firearm or not???

probably not, it uses a burst of AIR to start to movement, and is propelled by electricity. when they make bb guns firearms this could fall into that catagory.

Neither is a 1919 or an M2 and in semi they are both rifles. AR15's aren't designed to fire from the shoulder either, they are meant to be fired from the hip in a "spray and pray sweeping motion". [:)]
