This weekend me and Zman spent some quality time with our favorite weapons. During the day while discussing types of ammo, the question came up about how much we each have. Then we wondered about who had the most that posts here.
Right now I am down to about 1000 rounds or so, he has less. So how much ammo do you have? Our highest guess is that one of us here has topped the 100,000 round mark, squirreled away around the nation in caches. So give it up ARFCOMers, how much ammo are you collecting(hoarding)? |

[:D]
~ 450 rounds 5.56mm M193 clone ~ 650 rounds 9mm JHP +P ~ 750 rounds .30 carbine ~ 70 rounds 12 gauge |
|
Would that be all types or just 5.56 or 7.62?
Im sure many people her have well over 100,000 rounds. I would think that the average here might be somewhere around 50,000. Im sure many have that much in 22lr alone. Im not going to say how much I've got.[peep] But one thing I can say is you can never have enough. |

500 - 22lr
500 - 9mm 400 - 40S&W 400 - 45ACP 900 - 7.62x39 700 - 8mm 450 - .30-06 1400 - .308 250 - 12ga. |

I'm not gonna get into specifics, but let's just say I have "enough"... [}:D]

I dunno, I'm getting low... This is a guess but pretty close...
16k - 5.56 7k - .308 14k - 8mm 3k - 9mm 2k - 7.62x39 2k - 5.45x45 2k - 45acp 800 - 45lc 1k - 12gauge 8k - 22lr 2k - 30-06 1k - 50bmg 1k-2k various other calibers I need more |
|
Perhaps a better question might be "how many full .50 cal ammo cans do you have"? [:O]

You almost qualify as an ammo dump, just shy of the 100,000 round mark. |

Is it federal law or Texas law that states that every able-bodied male must have a rifle and 20 rounds of ammunition???

not as much as I'd like. my job pays crap so I only have enough on hand for 2 or 3 average range trips at a time unless I find a really good deal, then I'll get enough for 4 or 5 range trips

I don't hoarde ammo, just pick up decent quantities when i'm running low and find a good deal. Right now probably 2000 rounds total in 5 different calibers. The most I've ever had at one time was 5000 rounds total.
|

"Hoard" has such a negative connotation. I prefer to think of it as provding shelter for wayward ammunition.
|
|
There is no such thing as having too much ammo, ergo, I do not have enough. [}:D]

If you don't have at least 8 to 10 turkeys worth on hand, you're almost a liberal...

Just loaded bullets or how much potential ammo we have?
Do relatives stashes count? Does my wifes ammo count seperately from mine? What about other calibers? Do we count 22lr by the piece, brick, or case? Does 22lr count at all? How about ammo that we say we don't have but we have? Awww shit, just put me down for 6 rounds of 38 special. |
