I'm thinking of building a 1911 and saw that FAC had a kit for a cheap price and I'd like to know if anyone has heard anything about them or know where to get a good 1911 that has a solid frame on it. Thanks

From what I know, the 1911 is VERY tunable. Things you need to check are lock up (In regards to the barrel link,...)

ANYWAYS, there is alot of stuff.

I am certain you could build a shooter, but it might not have the accuracy you want.

Might want to look into Brownells. Get a SS frame make by Chip McCormick (Checkered, AND cut for a beavertail grip safety). For a slide: CDNN has COLT 70 series w/ the large rollmark. (Plus, this will give you a 2 tone!)

Then again, I am just dreaming. I have heard nothing regarding the quality of their kits.
