Unbelievable...

Why is it the assholes amongst us always seem to get the good breaks?

At least the kid's OK.

she disserves to die. Like zaphod said why do her kind always get the breaks? I dont think they should have even operated on her. Because the damn tax payers probably had to pay for that operation.

She said she loves her son and was trying to protect him, not hurt him. She didn't explain why she held a gun to his head.

Thats very nice shooting by the officer. Could have been a bit better though.

oh yes...She deserves to die and she can come nowhere close to a position of a mother.

Looks like it was a glancing blow, rather than a direct frontal hit.  She's lucky he wasn't a better shot.

Do cops still carry 357 Magnums, or did they mean to say 357Sig?

I can't imagine being shot anywhere, let alone being shot in the f'in head and live to tell about it.

good question. I also wonder why they didnt have some sort of swat out there, and why it was a 357 rather than a 308.

One of my friends was shot in the face by a .357 accidentally when he was younger.  He's doin pretty good now, although I don't recall what happened to the sack of shit who shot him.

Ummm, SWAT takes 45 minutes to 2 hours to show up, in areas that heve teams readily available.

From the LOOK of things, I would guess she was attempting sucide by cop.  Too bad she failed.  That kid deserves better then that for a mom.

Probably a .357 Mag with a .357 shell in it,something a little smaller say a .22 would have probably followed the skull channel and scrambled her brain!    Something a little more say .45 acp might have made a large impression on her skull as it cracked it like an egg!

The .357 mag just travels too damn fast to do much dammage unless you use a 125 grain Jacketed hollow point in it(and of course most Police would probably not be able to use it)!

Feel sorry or the poor kid ,having such a POS mom!

I naturally should have assumed all of that was the case. After all, hostage situations rarely last longer than 45 minutes to 2 hours.  I guess I'm a F*CKING IDIOT

?????? ease up, I know that hostage situations or barricaded subjects can go on and on. But in this particular circumstance she was walking up and down the street, switching between waving the gun about, and pointing it at the kid. She had her finger on the trigger in most of the video I have seen of the incident. So I'm kinda thinking they felt something had to be done as quickly as possible due to the danger she presented to her own child, as well as anyone nearby.

I think she also sho the family dog, before grabbing the child.
