Hey guys,
My brother passed away tonight without warning.I got a call from my sis-in-law around 12:00am and broke the news of his passing. It had happened earlier while sitting at the kitchen table. From what I could gather he wasn't in any distress .I only hope that he didn't suffer. He served in the US Navy on the USS Glacier AGB-4 as an EN3 from 1959-1961 and participated in OPERATION DEEP FREEZE 1960. Afterwards he was on the fleet ocean tug USS Nipmuc ATF-157 1962-1963. He is survived by a daughter, and two sons who served during the first Gulf War with one in the Navy aboard the USS Stein and the other in the 1st AirCav from FT.Hood. The reality still has not set in yet! I am trying hard to accept the fact he is gone but find it very difficult. He was my best friend and mentor! He was the oldest in the family out of three brothers.I was the youngest. My other brother passed away in '89. At least I was fortunate to have many memories due to him.He taught me how to hunt, and he shared his love, appreciation, and the responsibility concerning hunting and firearms. He was very patriotic(like my dad & me )and flew OUR FLAG long before it became fashionable to do so. He wouldn't mince words(or action) when it came to liberals or others bent on ruining this country! I will miss you my brother. You always had a kind word, help or encouragement to give others yet you never asked for anything in return.May GODSPEED you along your way!!! Your brother, Martin |

I empathize with you , not under the same circumstances, but for the same loss, a brother. I feel many emotions/feelings as I type, spitting fucking tears out wanting to beat soneone down, take someone out or help him most of all. Be proud that you were a brother to a great American.

And tomorrow is your birthday for god sakes!
Well, like we discussed I will stop by tomorrow CrazyIrishman. I will bring over Cheech & Chong so maybe we can fit a chuckle or two in to take the mood away. Laughter really helps and is a great natrual healer(probably not as good of a healer an a tig ol bittied blond, but this is the best I can do) Try to take it easy tonight, and we will all keep you in our thoughts and prayers! |
|
My sincere condolences on your loss.
You and yours are in My thoughts and prayers. Please thank Your brother's family for all of Us for his time & effort serving Our country. Tall Shadow |

death is a natural part of life, until you celebrate his death, you can never celebrate his life.
while I'm sure there is a great deal of sadness right now, the best thing would be to throw a party and be grateful that you were able to spend as much time with him as you have and to be happy that he has left his mark on you and this world. thank your mother and his wife for him and be happy he lived as long as he did, as you know full well that life is delicate and our numbers can come up at any time. |
