Every time I get an FAC catalog in the mail, I cringe with the thought of what the mailman must think when he sees it. Chicks in little shorts, spear guns, big letters proclaiming MACHINE GUN KITS!, threaded barrels with pictures of suppressors, etc. I figure it's all explainable and legal, so nothing to get worried about, right?

Convert this Black Powder Derringer into a legal .22lr caliber pistol!
In the same picture, they're selling a blackpowder .32 derringer which requires no FFL to purchase, and a .22lr barrel sleeve which also of course needs no FFL to purchase.
So for $79.95 plus $4.95, [s]a criminal[/s] anyone with a drill can "legally" purchase a working .22lr pistol with no paperwork whatsoever.
I understand and agree with the 80% laws, I think it's fine for someone to build a firearm for themself. This just looks too easy though, and I think they're setting themselves up for a big headache in the future.
