I think most of us are operating under the assumption someday there WILL be a ban. Buy your replacement stuff now, especially the cheap, small stuff like springs, détente pins, etc.

I think it will be written in a way that changes the language to include all parts.
On the other hand, if they ban lowers only, the price of all other parts will double at least. You have to decide if what u have now is adequate, or are you willing to wait and see with the hope that prices or availability doesn't change dramatically. |

Dont know really. I'd guess the neckbeard prices on things would do more to restrict availability than the law. Assuming the law is restricting sales to the public of complete guns.

The only way it could be effective is if they do the following:
-Make an "approved" rifle list like how cali does their handguns -Require serialization of parts on barrels, bcgs, etc and require them to be fixed to the gun. Any by-name bans or feature bans would only make companies change their names and aesthetics. Even with the above, it would take half a century for the existing rifles to bite the dust. |

You don't seem to understand, OP.
The AWB v 2.0 that Hillary envisions is not going to be like the last ban, which "grandfathered" pre ban ARs already privately owned. Think "registration of what you already own, or felony charges if caught not complying" this time, leading in the end to ultimate confiscation of course. THAT'S the direction Hillary wants to take the bus this time.

This is why those with kids, It's a good idea to pass down before a ban (if one happens). My daughters love to shoot so, their uncle and I built them both a rifle. Along with their own mags etc. |

" ar-15, and ALL COPIES OF THE AR-15..... so, there will be no dropping of features to work around it. also.. don't forget. the LAST ban done by bill Clinton, banned new manufactured magazines... BUT they made so damn many up to the deadline.. they were STILL selling new mags 10 years later.. if they DID try this. gun manufacturers would produce as damn much product, guns, parts kits, magazines, spare parts, etc as possible... you would still see niw parts 20 years later being sold.... unless they got really smart and banned all sales of parts after xx date... unless for authorized repairs by the manufacturer etc. |

laws create innovation. They know that. A ban will simply create an ar15 type rifle that can be assembled using parts from Lowe's or Home Depot. Barrels will be "solvent trap guide pipes" which have "spiral-grooved insides to help funnel dirt down to the trap."

The reality is if a ban goes into effect, Unfortunatly radicals and nut jobs will switch tactics and start suicide bombing, much like in Belgium. There is no answer to stop determined wackos that want to kill and terrorize. More lives were lost in one day, due to radicals with box cutters, than all the top 25 mass shootings combined and that makes only 20% lost on 9-11

My favorite is: Do you support a ban on AR15 type rifles. If so, what do you propose that should be done about the existing supply already in the hands of Americans. Do you support a total ban to include confiscation even if that means a house to house search/seizure? |
